We’ve had such a great time with the Year 6 children over the last six weeks!

Today, we asked them what they enjoyed the most and what they liked the least. Some said digging, making signs and planting were their favourites, and a few said they wished the sessions could be a bit longer!

We’ve been so lucky with the weather this autumn and have managed to get so much done in the garden with the children.

It’s been lovely spending time outdoors with them and seeing them get stuck into all sorts of gardening jobs.

And we couldn't have done this without Tony -the best caretaker and our GrowCrew Sarah! Sarah Dickinson

Our autumnal gardening session at Suffolks Primary with the Year 6 children today 🍂🌱

We made signs, started making leaf mould, built dens, planted crocus bulbs and got stuck into so many other jobs around the garden.

Inspired by the lovely video from OmVed Gardens by Corrie Wingate , the children had so much fun creating their own little characters while learning about seeds, soil and growing.

What a beautiful day, and another few weeks of sunshine ahead! ☀️🌱

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be planting onion and shallot sets, garlic, and sowing brassicas such as kale, rocket and mibuna, along with other winter-hardy vegetables, with the children at school.

I measured one of the luffahs I’m growing, and so far it’s a whopping 80 cm long!

I think it’s still got plenty of growing left to do, so who knows how long it will get!

The funny thing is, these luffahs haven’t been fed at all… In fact, I’m too scared to feed them! 😂🌱
