🚀 Save This Before Your Next Interview

Some interview questions feel uncomfortable on purpose.
They’re designed to reveal your values, motivation, problem-solving, and self-awareness — not to trick you.

I’ve broken down 7 of the trickiest interview questions across these 3 slides, with guidance on what employers are really looking for.

If you’re preparing for a graduate role, placement, or first job — this is one to save and revisit before interview day.

🗣 Your body speaks before you do — and in interviews, it can say the wrong thing without you realizing.

✅ What to DO:
• Sit up straight
• Make eye contact
• Use natural gestures
• Keep hands visible

❌ What to AVOID:
• Slouching or leaning on the table
• Fidgeting or crossing arms
• Avoiding eye contact
• Hiding your hands

Small things. Big impact.

❌ Three Interview Mistakes That Ruin Your Chances (And How to Fix Them)

1. DON’T be Vague with Achievements💪

The Mistake: Saying, "I'm a team player who worked hard to improve customer service."

The Fix: Quantify! Recruiters are looking for evidence. Rephrase with data: "I led a team that reduced customer complaints by 15% in Q3, resulting in a 5-star rating." Use numbers, percentages, and metrics to prove your value.

2. DON’T Skip Questions for the Interviewer❓️⁉️

The Mistake: Answering "No, I think you've covered everything" when asked if you have questions for them.

The Fix: Always have three strategic questions prepared. This shows genuine interest and strategic thinking. Ask about: the team's biggest challenge in the next 6 months, the success metrics for the role, or the company's L&D approach.

3. DON’T Blame or Vent about Past Employers 🏴

The Mistake: Using your current job as a horror story—it makes the interviewer instantly cautious.

The Fix: Frame your move as a positive, forward-looking career choice. Focus on what you are moving toward (e.g., more strategic challenge, professional development, growth opportunity) rather than what you are running away from.

📄 5 Signs Your CV Needs a Refresh

A CV can look “fine”… but still fail to impress employers.
Here are the most common mistakes I see every day when reviewing CVs:

1️⃣ No targeted profile
Your opening summary must match the job — not a generic paragraph.

2️⃣ Wrong CV format
Chronological, skills-based, graduate — choosing the right structure matters.

3️⃣ Duties instead of bullet-point achievements
“Responsible for…” doesn’t show impact. Numbers do.

4️⃣ Inconsistent information
Your CV, LinkedIn, and applications should match — employers check.

5️⃣ Cluttered layout
Too much text, no spacing, or long paragraphs can lose the reader in seconds.

🎄 With Christmas around the corner, I’m offering free CV checks — no charge, no catch.

Just message me here on the page, and if you’re happy with the refresh, a follow or review is always appreciated. 💛

🌟 We’ve talked about building a strong CV.
We covered how to master interviews.
Now it’s time for the next step: mastering yourself.

Because even the best CV and the best answers won’t help if you walk into the room stressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally reactive.

That’s where Emotional Intelligence (EQ) comes in.

EQ affects how you communicate, how you lead, how you make decisions — and how confident you feel in interviews or at work. Research shows that developing emotional intelligence can boost your performance, your relationships, and your wellbeing.

🚀 Master the Interview with These 3 Pillars

If you want to stand out in any interview, focus on these:

⭐ Pillar 1: Tell Stories, Not Duties
Use the STAR Method and back your answers with numbers. Impact speaks louder than tasks.

🔍 Pillar 2: Research for Solutions
Know the company’s challenges and position yourself as the fix. Be the answer they’re looking for.

✨ Pillar 3: Show Authentic Confidence
Practice your answers, then focus on connecting naturally. People hire people.

Interview Success: It’s Not What You Did, It’s the Story You Tell.

The interview stage can feel like an interrogation, but it should actually be a focused conversation about your value. My goal as a coach is to help you move past generic answers and start presenting your experience as compelling, quantified case studies.
The best candidates don't just list their duties; they tell a story using data and results that show a hiring manager: 'This is a measurable problem I solved, and I can solve yours too'.
