“Don Juan. Sitting in the twilight in my castle, a guest enters. I ask many times who he is. – No answer. I make an effort to entertain him. He remains mute. Eventually he starts singing. At this time, Don Juan notices who he is – Death.” After jotting this into his diary, Sibelius began work on his celebrated Second Symphony.
Alongside this work about the struggle, crisis and turning point in the life of an individual, the Royal Holloway Symphony Orchestra will perform Dorothy Howell's Divertissements and Schumann's Piano Concerto, led by internationally-acclaimed conductor Rebecca Miller and joined by 2022 Concerto Competition Winner, Filippo Di Bari.
Please join us for our Spring showcase🎶

Our very own Symphony Orchestra taking part in an Orchestration Session led by Nathan James Dearden (Concert Manager and Lecturer at Royal Holloway)
It was a fantastically led experience, where the orchestra had the privilege of rehearsing composers such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Rachmaninov and Skempton.
Join us next Wednesday for our end of term concert at 7:30pm!
