The International Council Education Otherwise Than At School is a charitable company registered in the UK at both the Charities Commission and Companies House. This means we governed by a strict code of conduct, which can be seen here. The Council trustees meet with our Advisory Board twice a year, either face-to-face or virtually. We offer three things: consultancy, training, and quality assurance, for all non-standard forms of education. If you run a group, work at an educational organisation, or are interested in education that is not based in a school, you may well find like-minded people in our network. Our mission is to offer training, support, validation, and quality assurance to all entities that support learning in non-standard settings. We aim to:

- To provide quality assurance processes for the full range of organisations, across the whole world, that provide and support learning in non-standard settings, also known as ‘Education otherwise than at school’.
- To support and offer training for individuals so that they can better sustain continuous professional improvement and development in said organisations.
- To organise quality assurance training, support, consultancy, and reviews of said organisations. If you have any questions about the legal status of the Council, please feel free to contact us.
