Our next book fair will run every day after school from May 21st- 24th!
By running the Scholastic Book Fair, Chase Bridge earns points to spend on new books for our wonderful school library. Following our successful book fair in the autumn term, the school council have helped to chose a selection of new books, which have joined our library stock and are available to all junior age children to borrow.
We hope to see you there!

We proudly present our first Health and Wellbeing Coffee Morning for Chase Bridge families.
On Wednesday 24th April between 9am and 11am, Chase Bridge school will be hosting our first ever Health and Wellbeing Coffee Morning! This will be a drop-in coffee morning, so you can arrive at any point between 9am and 11am where a cup of coffee, or tea, and a sweet treat will be waiting for you.
We will be hosting 13 different organisations, all of which have a core focus to support families in the local community. These include: The Purple Elephant Project (children’s mental health), Mental Health Support Teams (NHS), Parent Champions (signposting, housing, pastoral), Skylark SEND, Hampton Fuel (financial support for parents on benefits), Young Carers, NHS, Police and Heatham House (youth club). Each organisation will have friendly representatives who will be more than happy to discuss your particular circumstances to see how they can support you or simply to explain what they do in the community.
We are so excited to host this event as it will provide an informal, relaxed space for our families whilst providing beneficial support and advice. We hope to see you there! If you would like to attend, all you have to do is sign up using the QR code in the flyer.

Even though we missed the opportunity to photograph our cherry blossom trees whilst they were in full bloom, our school gardens still deliver a delightful spring backdrop.

A huge thank you for the wonderful support our This Is Me Day recieved last Friday. The parents who volunteered to come in did a fantastic job and the children loved meeting them and learning interesting facts about their heritage and backgrounds. The children also looked incredibly proud to show their chosen outfits to their classmates.
Finishing the day with the International Food Hall supported by the Friends of Chase Bridge made us feel incredibly proud to be part of the Chase Bridge community and we raised £525 towards new books. The atmosphere was truly special and has excited us about making This Is Me Day an annual event for our school, to continue to learn from each other and show pride and respect for our differences.
The huge selection of food to try was beyond what we had initially hoped for, thank you so much for generousity in providing such lovely food for the families and staff at Chase Bridge to sample.
We also created some beautiful art work linked to the day and hope to show you this in the coming weeks.

Dressing as an adjective for World Book Day really created an air of excitement and helped to extend the children's vocabulary. The children had great fun decorating classroom doors with adjectives and synonyms. They also enjoyed author visits and mystery readers.

We hope the children are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day tomorrow, Friday 1st March 2024.
The children are invited to dress up as an adjective on the day. Some examples are:
Colourful - different coloured clothes
Fragile - bubble wrap on clothing
Sleepy - pyjamas
Sparkly - tiara/princess/sparkly clothes
Brave - superhero
This is a great opportunity for developing vocabulary. Please encourage your child to learn a new adjective when choosing their word. We will be providing the children with a sticker to
write their word on and wear on the day.
We have a range of exciting activities planned along with an author visit. Also, keep a lookout in your email mailbox for your digital World Book Day token.

Year 1 children have enjoyed painting in the spring term whilst learning about primary and secondary colours. They have also learnt colour mixing techniques and have become confident in colour use, culminating in creating a painted plate in the style of Clarice Cliff.

Yesterday saw us wearing a purple accessory and raising funds for our local Children’s Mental Health Charity - The Purple Elephant Project. The Wellbeing Ambassadors were out that morning at drop off collecting all your donations. The total funds raised came to a fabulous £290!! Thank you to everyone for their support.

It’s Children’s Mental Health Week this week and we’ve kick-started our week by introducing the children to their class kindness calendar and the Chase Bridge Wall of Kindness and Thanks. Mr Ostro and some of our Wellbeing Ambassadors held a very special mental health and wellbeing assembly for all the children today.
The children were reminded to wear a purple accessory with their school uniform tomorrow in exchange for a donation to a wonderful children’s charity - The Purple Elephant Project situated at the entrance to our school. All donations will go towards therapeutic interventions for the children who access this service.

RFU West Car Park Notification
We have been informed by the RFU that the West Car Park did not re-open as planned on 5th January. This is due to urgent work that needs to be carried out on the outer road way. The West Car Park will remain closed until further notice.
We appreciate that this will have an impact for parents, but would kindly remind you to show consideration to our neighbours and park respectfully and legally in the surrounding residential roads.
