Computer Programming, or coding, is a skill that is becoming more relevant to an increasing number of jobs. To outsiders it looks complex and obscure but it is not difficult to learn how to code as long as the basics are learnt well. Our courses teach the fundamentals of computer programming using the popular text-based programming language Python. Students will start writing computer programs ten minutes into their first lesson in our practical approach, and we help students learn programming good practice and how to become confident, independent programmers. We offer courses for students between 7 and 17 years old across London. All our courses have small class sizes to ensure a high level of individual attention. We also offer individual tuition for adults wishing to find out whether programming is for them, or who wish to take on a new challenge, or for parents who want to know why their children love programming so much. At CodeToday we are delighted with the new emphasis on computer programming in schools. We believe that as more and more jobs require programming skills, children need to be confident and proficient in coding to make themselves competitive in the job market of the future. We also understand that not all schools are equally equipped to teach this skill to students as well as they teach Maths and English and other key subjects. Our aim is to assist teachers in primary and secondary schools with teaching a text-based programming language. We strongly believe that coding is not difficult as long as the key basic skills are acquired very early on and we bring many years experience of programming on a daily basis as well as our experience with communicating with school children to ensure students get a great start that will lead them to become confident, independent coders. We work flexibly around the needs of individual schools so we encourage you to get in touch with us to discuss how we can help your school. This can range from delivering a one-off workshop to a class or a small group of students or coming in several times a year. In all instances we assist teachers in understanding the concepts we are introducing to children so that they can extend them and we can help in developing programming tasks linked with other aspects of the curriculum. We believe children are ready for text-based programming starting from Years 5 and 6 and we teach the basics of coding using Python, a very powerful yet simple programming language that is not only well suited for teaching but is also used extensively in the real world. For older students we can deliver both basic and more advanced workshops in Python.
