No, you do NOT need a massive blood panel before anyone can diagnose ADHD.

But it is worth remembering that poor focus, brain fog, forgetfulness, low motivation and restlessness can come from lots of different places.

Sometimes it’s ADHD. Sometimes it’s sleep, thyroid issues, low iron or B12, hormones, anxiety, trauma, depression, medication effects… and sometimes it’s more than one thing at the same time.

That’s why a proper ADHD assessment shouldn’t just ask, “Do you struggle to focus?”

It should look at the **whole picture**, including when the difficulties started, whether they were present in childhood, your physical and mental health, sleep, medication and anything else that could be contributing.

You don’t need every test under the sun. You need the **right questions and the right checks for your individual situation.**

A checklist can start the conversation. It can’t finish the diagnosis.

Say “adult with ADHD” and most people picture the same thing. Bouncing off the walls, can’t sit still, always late.

But that’s like, one version. I see way more people who don’t fit that at all. The high achiever running on 3 alarms and pure adrenaline. The quiet one who never seems distracted but is somewhere else entirely in her head. The perfectionist rewriting the same email five times.

None of them fit the stereotype. All of them have ADHD.

If you saw yourself somewhere in there, that’s not a coincidence.

This is why I do what I do.

So many of my clients have spent years, sometimes their whole adult life, carrying the weight of feeling
different without understanding why.

By the time they reach out to me, most of them have already been told to just try harder, focus more, be
more organised. As if they haven’t been trying their entire lives.

Getting assessed isn’t about labelling yourself. It’s about finally understanding how your brain works so
you can stop fighting against it and start working with it.

If you’ve been wondering whether ADHD could explain what you’ve been going through, I’ve put together a
free 2-minute screening quiz.

It won’t give you a diagnosis, but it will give you a clearer picture of whether an assessment could help.

Link is in my bio. You don’t have to keep wondering.

These are 5 things I hear almost every week from clients who spend years thinking they were just lazy.

They’re not lazy. They never were.

ADHD doesn’t look like what most people think it looks like. It’s not just hyperactivity or not being able to sit still. For a lot of adults it shows up as procrastination, forgetfulness, zoning out, and struggling to finish things you actually care about.

The hardest part? Most people have been told their whole lives to just try harder. So they blame themselves instead of looking deeper.

If any of these signs hit a nerve, save this post. Share it with someone who needs to see it.

And if you want to understand what’s really going on, there’s a free ADHD screening quiz in my bio. It takes 2 minutes and it might change how you see yourself.

Most adults with ADHD grow up thinking something is wrong with their motivation, discipline or character.
It’s none of those things.

ADHD isn’t about “paying attention.”

It’s about how your brain allocates attention, and the rules are completely different:

• You need interest or urgency to activate

• Tasks without emotional reward feel physically impossible

• Your brain jumps between tabs because dopamine regulation is unstable

• You can be brilliant one day and paralysed the next

• Planning, starting and finishing aren’t willpower problems — they’re neurological ones
The problem?

Most people with ADHD try to “fix” themselves using strategies designed for neurotypical brains… and then wonder why nothing sticks.

Inside the free 21-day ADHD Challenge, you’ll learn simple, proven ADHD-friendly tools that actually work with your brain’s wiring.

Ever tried calming an ADHD brain?

It’s like asking a browser with 47 tabs open, 3 playing music, and one frozen to “just relax.”

Sometimes it’s not distraction — it’s mental traffic.
And no, they can’t “just focus.” If only it worked that way.

For many women, it’s not about lack of willpower — it’s living in a brain that never quite hits pause.

You’re not lazy. You’re not broken.

You’re just running a high-speed brain in a slow-speed world.

Tag your fellow “47-tabs-open” girl friend — she’ll get it. 👯‍♀️

So… you read an article about ADHD and autism in women and suddenly go:
“Wait… this is literally me. Everything makes sense now.” 🙃

Here’s the tea:
ADHD and autism in women can look almost identical.

Women are pros at masking: you mimic, rehearse, perform “normal”… and leave completely drained.

Traits that scream both: hyperfocus on a weird obsession, sensory overload, emotional meltdowns, trouble organizing life.

Some lucky people have both (hello, AuDHD), some just one. But chasing a single ADHD diagnosis when you actually have traits of both?

You’ll be treating symptoms, not you.
So if your brain is like “wait, which is it?!” — a proper assessment by someone who knows both ADHD and autism is the only way forward.

So my patient asked ChatGPT what’s wrong with her… and apparently she’s dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, thyroid problems, burnout and maybe a dash of personality disorder 🤯

Sounds familiar? That’s the thing.

So many conditions share similar symptoms: brain fog, low motivation, impulsivity, exhaustion, trouble focusing… and suddenly you’re convinced you’ve got ALL of them.

But here’s the truth:
-ADHD-like symptoms don’t automatically mean ADHD.
- Sometimes it’s something else.
- Sometimes it’s ADHD plus something else.

And only a qualified specialist can actually tell the difference. 🙋‍♀️

That’s why an official assessment matters.

Everyone thinks ADHD = chaos.
Meanwhile, you’re sitting there with 12 planners, 3 calendar apps, and a nervous breakdown if one alarm doesn’t go off. 🙃

That’s not “being organised.”

That’s masking — aka working twice as hard so nobody notices your brain is tap dancing through traffic.

And yeah… it looks impressive, until you’re face-down on the couch wondering why “just existing” feels like a full-time job.

👉 Comment MASKING and I’ll send you the list of hidden ADHD signs no one talks about (yes, with sarcasm included).

👉 Or if you’re done wondering whether it’s “just you” or actually ADHD, get in touch. It might be time to stop guessing and start getting answers.

Because spoiler: colour-coded burnout is still burnout. 🤷‍♀️
