Whilst POTTERING AROUND in my garden a couple of days ago, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE GLORIOUS WEATHER to finally get a few things done that I'D BEEN PUTTING OFF for a while; like mending and painting the garden fence, I HAD THIS EERIE FEELING that I wasn't alone; that I was being watched.
I tried to ignore it and SHAKE IT OFF, telling myself that it was just MY IMAGINATION PLAYING TRICKS ON ME...
But then I looked up!
.. And LO AND BEHOLD there was my stalker.
A FOX!
This gorgeous fox was just sat there, staring at me, watching me the whole time. Foxes in London seem to be so BRAZEN and BOLD.
It didn't even FLINCH when it saw I had noticed it or even when I WHIPPED OUT MY PHONE to record it!
I'm used to seeing foxes in London and they ARE NOWHERE NEAR AS timid or shy as they seem to be in other countries; Spain for instance...

But this WAS A FIRST FOR ME.
I've rarely seen one up so close and happy for me to record it...
What a beautiful animal!

In this video, my one-to-one student Lisa and I revisit a box of lexical chunks from previous lessons. We focus on the chunk:

"𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵"

(e.g., "𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵," "𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨," "𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘮,", "𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘢𝘺," etc.).

We start by "unpacking the meaning" of the chunk, then we "personalise it" with our own experiences, before finally "reformulating it" into better, more natural English.

Reformulating gives us a fantastic opportunity to build a connected 𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘁 - a group of related chunks and phrases around the theme of "sleep"—which helps us tell stories more naturally!

By using "sleep right through" as a springboard, we also explore other connected phrases, like:

> "𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹"
> "𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘆"
> "𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗲-𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻"
> "𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 / 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗼𝗻 /
