As we break for the Easter holidays, Headteacher Mr Mills-Bishop would like to say a big "thank you" to all parents and guardians for the three amazing months he had since starting last January.
Many changes have occurred since he came to Halley_House_School, one of them being the introduction of 'Halley Houses', named after constellations:
Carina House - Xavier as captain
Perseus House - Rylei as captain
Centaurus House - Mia as captain
Delphinus House - Isabelle as captain
All children were sent home yesterday with a slip letting them know which house they will be a part of. Have they found out yet?
From the Summer Term, we will be running 19 different after school clubs, across various different activities and interests; we have a total capacity of 440 spaces. If your child is interested in any of those, speak to our office after the Easter break.
Happy Easter holidays!
Our new Headteacher, appointed last summer, has now taken the reins at Halley House School!

This morning, Headteacher Claire Syms, future Headteacher Toby Mills-Bishop and BPET Chief Executive Mark Greatrex met the parents of Halley House School to discuss the leadership transition.
Parents were clearly sad to see Claire go, but also excited to meet Toby, and reassured by Assistant Head, Soozii Lim that the staff team will continue to always have pupils' interests at the forefront of everything they do.
We anticipate exciting things ahead in this next chapter for our wonderful school.
We are delighted to be offering FREE yoga classes to local parents and their babies aged 6-18 months!

A lovely FOHH Spring Fair to celebrate another successful term! The egg rolling was a particular success, along with bulb planting, mosaics and cardboard tube rabbits!
This year’s Science Fair was every bit as spectacular as always, with so many outstanding projects and scientific investigations, based on this year’s theme of ‘Connections.’ Judging was the toughest yet - well done to all our winners and runners up, and to EVERYONE who participated! 🧬 🧪 🏆
The HHS 24-hour Readathon is well underway! Pupils have LOVED coming to sit in our front reception area to enjoy a good book or 3. We’ve been joined by parents, staff and visitors - what a great way to celebrate World Book Day and all things literary! There’s still time to donate - all funds go to the ongoing development of our very well-used and appreciated school library!

We look forward to welcoming you to Halley in September!
Christmas lunch and Christmas jumper day today! The whole school, from Nursery to Year 6, had lunch ALTOGETHER for the first time! It was such a joyous occasion and a great way to celebrate another successful term. A HUGE thank you to all school staff and particularly our kitchen team from for ensuring everything was delicious (as always) and that service ran like clockwork. We’ve come to expect nothing less!
Year 4 went to see The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House - what an inspirational venue and fabulous experience!
Our annual Friends of Halley House wreath-making event was, as always, a roaring success! Not only was it an opportunity to make a bespoke Christmas wreath and spend some well-deserved time together as a community, we were also raising funds for a brand new school stage and sound system! Massive thanks to FOHH for coordinating, and particularly to Clare for all the materials and simply *superb* instruction! 💚
A little taste of what’s to come from our fabulous upcoming performances from Year 4 (Lights, Camel, Action 2: The Sequin) and Year 5 & Y6 (Bah Humbug!)
It was the turn of Y2 and Y3 today, with a beautiful festive concert! Everyone enjoyed the energetic and tuneful rendition, along with the indoor snowballs! Very well done to Galaxy and Hawking classes - absolutely wonderful!
Galaxy Class were on a mission today - to save our oceans! Pupils conducted their own research and then wrote detailed information leaflets on the damage plastics can cause, plus some helpful tips on how we can all make a positive difference. They presented their findings in an impassioned and authoritative way to Ms Syms - our future will be much brighter if it’s in Year 2’s hands! Compelling stuff, Galaxy Class!
Winter performance season has started! And what a wonderful way to start - Phase 1 (Nursery, Reception and Year 1) performed their ‘A Snowman at Sunset’ show this morning to rapturous applause and admiration! There was barely a dry eye in the house! A huge well done to all children for their beautiful singing and seasonal costumes, and especially to Year 1 for their confident and articulate performance on stage. Super!

Our Story
Halley House School was rated by Ofsted as ‘Good’ in all areas in July 2018.
Halley House School in Dalston opened its doors to our very first cohort of 2 classes of Reception children in September 2015. We are a non-selective, non-denominational, co-educational primary free school and welcome children from all backgrounds.
Operated by Bellevue Place Education Trust, the school offers a broad and balanced curriculum with specific focuses on literacy, numeracy and ICT. We focus on high academic attainment and employ innovative pedagogical approaches delivered by the finest teaching staff.
Our belief is that children learn best when they are happy and excited by what’s happening in the classroom; excellent achievements will be a by-product of the education on offer and not the only goal. Our aim is to instil a love of learning in our pupils and provide a solid foundation to build on, in the transition to secondary education and beyond.
