The Four18 Outreach and Teachers’ Training Program, in partnership with Soft Contents UK, is a holistic initiative designed to promote educational excellence, health awareness, and overall well-being among students, teachers, and young people in Mpape, Abuja.
The program addresses both physical and psychosocial needs within the school environment. Through the Pad A Girl Hygiene Program, it directly tackles menstrual health challenges by providing sanitary materials, education on personal hygiene, and fostering dignity and confidence among adolescent girls. This intervention helps reduce absenteeism, stigma, and health risks associated with poor menstrual hygiene.
In addition, the program integrates teacher capacity building on global learning concepts, equipping educators to create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments that promote emotional well-being, resilience, and positive student engagement. By embedding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) into learning, the program encourages healthy behaviors, awareness, and long-term lifestyle improvements. By combining education, health interventions, and empowerment, the program fosters a healthier, more confident, and better-equipped generation of learners and educators. - Evelyn Udofia, Project Lead, Four 18 Humanitarian Initiatives, Abuja, Nigeria.
