Cavalry and Guards Club, Tuesday 25 March

The Old Millhillians in Property Annual Dinner was held at The Cavalry & Guards Club on Tuesday 25th March 2025. In total 42 people attended the evening, which was organised by Mike Peskin in conjunction with Stuart Hibberdine, Past President, who organised the excellent venue.

The current Old Millhillians Club President Graham Chase was in the Chair and his guest’s included Stephanie Miller the immediate Past President and Gordon Mizner, the current Chair of the OM Club’s Board.

Antony Spencer the MHS Foundation CEO, was the guest speaker and updated everyone on the School’s expanding portfolio, plus the main challenges ahead. These included the 20% VAT increase on Private School fees, and new restrictions on charitable tax reliefs.

Other notable attendees included Past Presidents Chris Kelly and Chris Maunder-Taylor, plus John Hellinikakis the current OMC Vice-President, making it a total of 7 past, current and future Presidents. It was great to see an ever-increasing number of younger OMs in attendance at this particular dinner. A date and venue for the informal drinks later in the year will be confirmed and posted on the OMs website events calendar in due course.

Bleeding Heart Bistrot, London

Friday 09 May 2025

6:30 PM - 11:00 PM

TICKETS VIA BIO LINKTREE

The OM Engineers Dinner will be held at The Bleeding Heart Bistrot in London once again for a delicious three course dinner and great wine to pair with both social and networking conversations.

This year’s speaker is Isobel Byrne Hill. A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, having started at Arup as a structural engineer and become a major projects leader, her projects include the London 2012 Olympics, Crossrail (the Elizabeth Line) and HS2. With growth and infrastructure investment a key policy topic in the UK, Isobel will explore the themes of Risk, Safety, Change and Innovation in the context of the built environment.

The impacts of climate and demographic change are being increasingly experienced in reality. From floods, to record temperatures, to the needs of ageing populations and requirement for new approaches to the built environment, the very nature of risk is changing. For many the impact of these risks is experienced unequally, becoming an increasingly important consideration in how we conceive of and design cities of the future.

We would like to encourage everyone with an interest in engineering, science, design and technology to attend, whatever stage of your career or studies you are at or if it is just an interest.

The event is limited to 30 places, so please sign up as early as possible. Looking forward to seeing you there.
