We are delighted to share the outcome of our latest Ofsted inspection at Leaways School.
Inspectors judged the school to be operating at a strong standard in four key areas:
✅ Attendance and Behaviour
✅ Inclusion
✅ Leadership and Governance
✅ Personal Development and Wellbeing
The inspection recognised our commitment to placing each pupil's individual needs at the heart of everything we do, highlighting the calm, structured and inclusive environment we provide for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Ofsted praised:
• Our highly proactive and inclusive approach to attendance
• The positive relationships between staff and pupils
• Consistent improvements in behaviour
• Extensive therapeutic support, including counselling, speech and language therapy, art and music therapy, mentoring and sensory activities
• The progress pupils make from often very low starting points
Inspectors also heard directly from pupils, who described Leaways as an understanding and supportive school where staff know them well and help them build confidence, resilience and skills for the future.
Sam Lo-Pon, Headteacher, said:
"We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the dedication and care shown by our staff every day. This outcome reflects our commitment to ensuring every young person feels safe, valued and able to succeed. We are incredibly proud of our pupils and everything they achieve."
This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff, the determination of our pupils and the support of our families. Thank you to everyone who contributes to making Leaways School such a positive place to learn and grow.
