Mario Kart Arcade GP contains unused early character portraits that come in "normal" and "hurt" variations. Curiously, Toad's "hurt" portrait is identical to his normal one, making him appear to either be unbothered or particularly good at hiding his emotions. 😂

In Super Mario Bros., Super Mushrooms and Fire Flowers are actually the same object for the purposes of powering up Mario, with a Super Mushroom being able to turn him into Fire Mario. The game simply hides this by not spawning any Super Mushrooms when Mario is already Super. 😲

Obscure "we don't have your language" screen that appears in Luigi's Mansion (EU) if the GameCube is set to Dutch. For every other language, the game automatically sets itself to the system language, with Dutch being the only one for which it is forced to offer a different one. 🤔

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS) contained an unused cutscene of Luigi obtaining a mysterious glowing asterisk. While neither the cutscene nor the asterisk are used in Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, the same scene was remastered and is once again found unused in the files. 🤔

The kiosk demo version of Mario Kart DS contains an unused item that appears as the user's own face on the bottom screen. Using yourself as an item crashes the game.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam revolves around the interaction of "3D" characters from the "real" Mushroom Kingdom with flat paper characters. Ironically, internally they are implemented as the opposite, with the 2D characters being 3D models and the 3D characters being 2D sprites. 😂

At some points during Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Mario and Luigi have a friendly coin collecting competition. During this, a rare glitch can occur whereby Luigi's score fails to display properly and HTML-like style tags become visible around it. This only happens to Luigi. 😲

Development files for Yoshi's Island feature a graphics file containing only silhouettes. One of them depicts a large-headed humanoid referred to only as "mr.777". Nothing else is known about this character, and neither his sprite nor his name appear anywhere else in the files. 🤔

Nintendo of Europe's official 1998 German guide for Yoshi's Story depicts White Yoshi as being highly religious. He also states that his constant words of admonition of the other Yoshis' sinful behavior caused them to abandon him. 😔
