The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) has opened applications for its Doctoral Preparation Programme (2026/27) — a 10-week online course designed to help aspiring researchers build the foundation for doctoral study in the creative disciplines.
Whether you’re aiming to apply for a PhD, returning to academia after professional experience, or refining a research idea you’re passionate about, this programme provides the tools, structure, and confidence to move forward.
🔍 What the Programme Offers
Participants will:
· Develop essential academic and research skills needed for doctoral work
· Learn to conduct literature reviews and design research proposals
· Strengthen academic writing and English proficiency
· Prepare for PhD interviews and application procedures
Upon completion, students will be well prepared to progress into UCA’s doctoral application and interview stage.

💻 Mode: Fully online (UK time)

🌍 EWIE Visits Queen Mary University of London and Concludes Project Cooperation Agreement
On 11 September 2025, Mr WANG Wei, President of East & West International Education Group (EWIE), led a delegation to Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), one of the UK’s most prestigious universities with over a century of history.
In-depth discussions were held with QMUL’s senior management team, resulting in several important agreements and laying a solid foundation for the further advancement of educational cooperation between the two parties.

✨ Formal recognition of EWIE’s foundation programmes (IFC and IPMP), ensuring smooth progression for students to study overseas.
✨ Consensus on exploring a 2+2 joint education model.
✨ Initial discussions on the Scholars Hub programme, designed to cultivate high-level international talents.
This milestone meeting not only clarified the future direction of cooperation but also achieved tangible results. The initiatives reached will foster resource sharing, create synergies in international education, and inject new momentum into nurturing globally competitive talents.

We are pleased to share that Scholars Hub, a program under East & West International Education Group (EWIE), was presented at the 6th Annual Conference of the Association of British Chinese Professors (ABCP), held at the University of Surrey on September 12–13, 2025.
EWIE President WANG Wei delivered a keynote speech, highlighting three initiatives — Interlink, Inspire, Initiate — to encourage deeper UK-China collaboration in education and research.

We spoke with Dr Burak Karadag, whose career spans three key post-PhD pathways: academic research, industry, and entrepreneurship. An aerospace engineer with a in plasma propulsion, he made a bold leap from space to agriculture. After a postdoc at the and a role at developing cutting-edge home technology, he founded DEBYE, a deeptech startup focused on electrifying nitrogen fertiliser production for sustainable agriculture.
Dr Karadag shared candid and insightful reflections on navigating career opportunities beyond academia, highlighting the versatility of PhD-trained talent.
At Scholars Hub, we collaborate with universities, research centres, and supervisors to help bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. Through curated content and targeted program matching, we support the academic pipeline while helping researchers make informed choices about their future.
