During our London city break we visited the amazing Tate museum where you can explore the Tate draw area, made for
Kids! Sit down at one of the special drawing desks and let your imagination soar as you create your very own masterpiece using their cool digital sketch pads.

Once you’ve finished your artwork, step back and watch as it magically appears on the big wall for everyone to see! If you want to keep your kid’s creation forever, you have the option to save it to your phone using the QR code or even order a cool T-shirt featuring her artwork to proudly wear around town! (Unfortunately for us we were leaving the next morning so no time to pick up the printed T-shirt)

Ingenious inventions, experimental tinkering and flashes of inspiration
between May 13 – January 7, 2024

Everything around us that isn't found in nature, including the bicycle, trampoline, automobile, jeans, skateboard, and cotton candy, had to be invented.

But by whom? And why? And what was the world’s first invention?

Take a thrilling trip into the realm of inventions and meet the people who are responsible for the concepts. The innovators who, in a moment of inspiration, realised they really needed something that didn't exist yet! A few inventions happened by chance, while others took a long time to create.

Explore a plethora of interactive stations to uncover fascinating, captivating, and humorous creation stories. To discover more about the inventions, you have to give them a try yourself. To determine how effective they are, you might need to design or complete them yourself also.

Château La Coste, Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade

Château La Coste is a kid-friendly wine domaine and art estate just a few kilometers from Aix-en-Provence and Marseille.

Large-scale sculptures (43 unique art projects) are flawlessly and thoughtfully placed across this gorgeous wine domaine, concealed in the hills and grape fields.

You will need at least 2-3 hours and good walking shoes to visit all 43 installations (avoid heels 👠 and we saw few visitors struggling) around the estate, across 200 hectares (130 of which are full of grape vines), vineyards, chestnut forests, and olive tree fields .

Some of her favourites:

- sitting on the lake, the immense spider called Crouching Spider created by the Franco-American artist Louise Bourgeois in 2003 and installed in 2010. (Photo 2)
- foxes 🦊 in the forest, cast in bronze, by the American artist Michael Stipe. (Photo 3)
- multicolored metallic dividing wall (Liam Gillick, 2010) (Photo 4)
- Bob Dylan's first monumental ironwork sculpture, the Rail Car (Photo 5)
- The Oak room by Andy Goldsworthy 2009 (Photo 6)
- Tia-Thuy Nguyen’s – Silver Room’s stilt house structure inspired by the Rong house of the Bahnar people, Vietnam, made from red oak wood (Photo 7)
- Cat inside a barrel by Tracey Emin (Photo 8)
- Mater Earth 2023 by Prune Noury (Photo 9)

After the long walk we refilled our batteries with delicious food from The Terrace and wine tasting.

We will surely come back for the kids workshops once available.

- the distinctive attire worn by firemen, such as their bulky jackets, helmets, and boots
- how to perform CPR an inflatable CPR manikin
- how to roll a fire hose

🌹 Flower Sewing Kit 🪡

Best first sewing experience with the Flower Sewing Kit !

Contains hand crafted flowers of four kinds, and the name tags of them, children learn about the flowers while decorating them with painting water colour or normal colouring markers and sewing the colourful yarn 🧶 on them.

This is a collaborated project between and Bookish Playroom.
Items included in the flower sewing kit itself:
* Four wooden flowers with name tags
* 2 Needles: One large size and one small size (for sewing buttons)
* 1 Needle threader
* Beads and buttons
* 5 Colors of yarn sticks
* Green colored foam

THE SAVONNERIE DE LA LICORNE Marseille WORKSHOP

We visited the interactive museum with its own “sense of smell space” where you can discover all the soap 🧼 produced and had a Marseille soap manufacturing demonstration workshop where we created our very own personalized soap.

The steps in the manufacture of Marseille soap with demonstrations of how our machines operate:

STEP 1 SAPONIFICATION
When oil and soda are combined, a chemical reaction known as saponification occurs, producing soap.

Step 2 Casting
After being placed into trays to cool and dry, the hot, mud-like raw soap mixture is then cut into bars.

Third Step Grinding
The mixture is then thinned out and given added tenderness using granite rollers that grind up the soap bars.

4th step Mixing
Using a mixer makes it possible to incorporate more specialized ingredients into the soap (such as honey, essential oils, fragrances, and lavender).

STEP 5 EXTRUDING
The colored, scented mixture is then put through a soap plodder for extrusion to obtain long pieces of finished soap.

STEP 6 MOLDING
The long pieces of finished soap are then cut into their final size and manually stamped, molded and labelled.

Today, Savonnerie de la Licorne sells an extensive range of high quality, 100% vegetable oil soaps and soap products that are shipped worldwide and appreciated by a loyal international customer base.

Soap is born on a rainy day, when a Roman woman notices that a mix of ash, grease and water has amazing cleaning properties. It is in the 2nd century AD that Romans begin to use soap for personal hygiene.”

🌍 Planet Ocean 🐠 Montpellier is the result of the merger of the Mare Nostrum Aquarium and the Galileo Planetarium.

From the universe's furthest reaches to the seafloor, you may explore in entertaining and fascinating ways right here.

There are 24 pools with close to 400 distinct animal species. From the smallest to the largest, everyone may find something to interest them in each area.
We saw various species of sharks, rays of all kinds, a jellyfish ballet, and the feeding of the penguin colony. The storm simulator was one of our favourite.

The only 3D underwater exploration simulator in Europe, a sea storm, and France's largest covered tank, spanning 33 feet (10 meters) high and 59 feet (18 meters), are all included in this interactive marine museum on the French Mediterranean coast that is more than simply an aquarium.

The African penguin, the coral reef, and the vibrant tropical fish are the three most popular attractions to the nine marines habitats, which span the Arctic to the tropics.

Families visiting the aquarium may choose which attractions to visit easily because the attractions are categorized by age.
