BECOME A TUTOR WITH THINKERER

Are you a tutor or a teacher? Or do you have a subject knowledge and professional experience that could be applied to curriculum subjects? We're looking for both experienced educators and those who feel they have an aptitude for teaching to join our roster for an increasing amount of one-to-one tutoring placements with students of primary and secondary age both online and in-person.
WHO WE ARE
Thinkerer is a new education agency providing consultancy, tuition and assessment mainly in the private sector but with a goal to one day develop programmes that can be rolled out to students across the country. We're starting by building a team of freelance educators who can impart subject knowledge, skills and life experience to help students achieve their goals. Our motto is Empower Your Child's Curiosity and our belief is that a broad knowledge base can enhance every child's attainment at school but more importantly enrich their lives as kids through to adulthood.
THE JOB
You will earn at least £30ph and this can rise to up to £80ph and beyond dependant on experience. Lessons will primarily be afternoon/evening and weekends to fit around school times but school holidays will provide more hours to work. Once a tutor diary is full from Monday to Friday with additional Saturday or Sunday work then you can expect to earn at least £750 per week on the lowest rate with some earning up to £2000 per week.
The main focus of the work is for school entry exams for primary age children in the private sector so ideally we want tutors with experience or an aptitude to teach primary Maths and English. However we also have work for ongoing support with academic studies, mentoring and GCSE/A Level exams. Please do still fill out the form and apply if you do not currently think you can teach English and Maths as we have training programmes to bring you up to speed if we feel you have the aptitude to teach.
A degree in a relevant subject is desirable but again not a pre-requisite. We believe tutoring is about curiosity and character as well as subject knowledge and are well aware that subject knowledge can be learnt in a professional career and through reading and learning outside institutions. In fact life experience and a broader understanding of the world is our USP. Our tutors are consistently recommended for their ability to branch out from lesson material and enrich children's learning from lived experience.
Tutoring roles will be in-person and online.
A full DBS check is required to work with children so you will need to provide this once onboard - we can help arrange this if necessary.
This work can be flexible and often works as a top up to full time or part time teaching roles or for a freelancer in another industry to provide a steady income whilst developing a business or passion during school hours.
