The Institute created the first professional psychosynthesis training programme in Europe in 1975 and since then has developed in-depth programmes in psychosynthesis counselling, psychotherapy, coaching as well as the application of psychosynthesis to other fields of service. If this resonates, Psychosynthesis could be the missing piece you've been looking for. Developed by Roberto Assagioli, an Italian Psychiatrist and contemporary of Freud and Jung, he found the psychoanalytical approach of his training didn't take into account the psychospiritual or transpersonal dimensions of being human and was therefore limited.

Assagioli, was also one of the pioneers in identifying, working with and harmonising parts of the personality, which he called sub personalties.

The Institute of Psychosynthesis, which has been offering Psychosynthesis training since 1975, runs a number of different Psychosynthesis study options from our Fundamentals 3 day introduction to Psychosynthesis, Masters Programmes and Professional Pathways for coaches, Psychotherapists and Counsellors.

🌟 Celebrating the Institute of Psychosynthesis Graduation Day 2026 🌟

Saturday 4th July was a day of celebration as students, their families and friends, and members of the faculty came together at our annual graduation ceremony at Middlesex University. Graduates were awarded their Master's degrees in Psychosynthesis Psychology, alongside diplomas in Psychotherapy and Counselling, marking the culmination of years of dedicated study, personal development and professional training.

The ceremony also gave our new MA graduates the opportunity to share a few words about the journey of writing their theses. Their presentations offered moving and inspiring insights into the questions they had explored, the personal and professional growth they had experienced, and the lasting impact that the thesis writing process had on their lives.

This year the Emma Stavrou award for a thesis which advances academic principles and clinical insight in Psychosynthesis, was jointly shared by Pete Pavan for his thesis, “THE SELF-RECLAIMING INQUIRY: A Framework for Midlife Men in an Age of AI Driven Vocational Displacement” and Eloise Stapleton for her thesis: “Embodying Belonging: Between Race, Ancestry and Self.”

Our heartfelt congratulations to everyone who graduated from all at the Institute.
