Gan On The Hill

We had such a brilliant morning at our Mock Seder! We sang songs, acted out the story of the Israelites leaving Egypt and most of the children tried everything on their Seder plate! It was wonderful to have so many parents and carers join us - as well as Pharoah and Moses!

The children have been absolutely loving the playground this week! So many toys, activities, and exciting things to explore - it’s been wonderful watching them play, learn, and enjoy the outdoors together.

We were kindly gifted this gorgeous planter and lots of bulbs by the previous nursery which was here before us. In Autumn, the children carefully planted the bulbs, and after months of waiting and nurturing, they have now bloomed beautifully. It’s been wonderful for the children to see the results of their patience and hard work - and we think they look absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much for the generous gift and for brightening up the outside entrance to our nursery.

We had a wonderful Purim party yesterday with 🎭✨ It was so special to see the children (and some parents!) dressed up in their amazing costumes. We enjoyed a fun entertainer, made beautiful masks, and of course ate lots of delicious hamantaschen!

Over the past week we’ve been busy preparing for Purim and are looking forward to our special nursery party tomorrow! 🎉

✨ Some of our children visited for their intergenerational class with today. ✨

They sang songs, enjoyed chasing bubbles and waving colourful scarves around. At the end of the session, the children gave the residents honey cake they had made and wished them Shana Tova - a sweet and happy new year ahead!🍏🍎🍯🐝.

The children had a wonderful time planting bulbs in our new planter, which was generously donated by the previous nursery to Gan On The Hill, Yeladenu. One of the children’s grandfathers - who also tends the Synagogue garden - joined us to show the children how to plant them. Together, they planted daffodils and tulips, carefully digging holes in the soft soil and placing each bulb with the point facing up and the roots down. We’re all so excited to watch the flowers bloom in spring! 🌼🌷💐🪏🪴

What a special morning! The firefighters came to visit !

All the children were so excited! They got to sit in the driver’s seat and also as passengers. We spoke about the uniform they wear and even tried it on!

The children all pulled the hose and sprayed water on the floor! All the firefighters were so kind and helpful in answering all the children’s questions!

Rosanne who is a violinist came into the Gan today to play her violin to the children. They loved hearing their favourite songs being played and they also got to try and play it too!
