TMCPC – DAY 3!
And just like that, our latest Transport Manager CPC candidates have made it to Day 3!
The acronyms are multiplying, the legislation is flowing, the notes are filling up… and hopefully everyone is still speaking to us.
There’s a LOT to take in on a TMCPC course, but our new group are getting stuck in, asking questions and building that all-important transport knowledge one module at a time.
Still plenty more to come over the next few weeks — drivers’ hours, operator licensing, compliance, costing, maintenance and all the other wonderfully exciting things that make transport managers tick!
Day 3 — let’s do this!

It's time for a game of Haulage Bingo...
How many can you tick off before lunchtime? 👀
If you've muttered "The tacho must be wrong...", reheated the same coffee three times, or answered "Can I just ask something quick?" for the tenth time today... congratulations, you're having a perfectly normal day as a Transport Manager! 😂
Comment below with your score ⬇️ (be honest... we've probably all got a full house!)
And if all this has reminded you that it's time for a Transport Manager CPC, Refresher, OLAT or some practical compliance support...
You know where to find us.

Summer is great... unless you're trying to get a 44-tonne lorry through roadworks, caravans, tourists, and melting tarmac! 😅
Our latest blog, The Great British Summer Road Haulage Challenge, takes a light-hearted look at the joys (and frustrations!) of summer on Britain's roads, with a few practical tips thrown in too.
Have a read and let us know... what's your biggest summer driving headache?
👇 Read it here:
The Great British Summer Road Haulage Challenge Ah yes… summer in the UK. That magical time of year when the roads are busier, the cab feels like a greenhouse by 9am, and every driver suddenly becomes an expert meteorologist.
Be honest... when was the last time you actually enjoyed a training course? We'll wait...
If your answer was "never", we'd love the chance to change your mind.

Is it just us, or is every Friday now sponsored by the sun?
Another heatwave, it's Friday, and we know plenty of drivers are counting down the miles until home time. But before you race off into the weekend (or crawl through roadworks at 7mph...), take a few extra precautions.
Keep hydrated – coffee doesn't count!
Pack plenty of water and take regular breaks.
Check your vehicle before setting off, paying extra attention to tyres and coolant levels.
Keep the cab as cool as you can, and if you're feeling unwell, don't try to "soldier on."
We know drivers are tough... but even the toughest can melt faster than an ice lolly on a dashboard.
Wherever you're heading today, take care of yourself and each other. The load can wait a few extra minutes – your safety can't.
Have a fantastic weekend from all of us at Citrus Tree!
Is it just us... or is anyone else ridiculously excited for Road Transport Expo this week?
We'll be there on Thursday, armed with comfy shoes, far too much enthusiasm, and every intention of talking transport with anyone who'll stand still long enough.
If you spot the Citrus Tree team wandering around, come and say hello! We promise we don't bite (unless someone nicks the last free bacon roll... then all bets are off).
Looking forward to catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and seeing what's new in the world of transport.
Who's going? 👇
With temperatures climbing across the UK, it's important to remember that working in the heat isn't just uncomfortable – it can become a genuine safety risk.
Whether you're behind the wheel, loading vehicles, working in a warehouse or out in the yard, taking a few simple precautions can make a big difference.
Stay hydrated – drink water regularly, even if you don't feel thirsty.
Take breaks in shaded or cooler areas whenever possible.
Wear lightweight, breathable clothing and appropriate PPE.
Be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion, including dizziness, headaches, excessive sweating, nausea and confusion.
Never leave anyone (or pets) in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
Check on colleagues – if someone doesn't seem themselves, don't ignore it.
For drivers, remember that cab temperatures can rise rapidly when stationary, while warehouse teams may be working in buildings where temperatures quickly become uncomfortable throughout the day.
Safety doesn't stop because the sun comes out. Looking after yourself and those around you helps everyone get home safely at the end of the shift.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe.
Did you know we offer more than just Transport Manager CPC courses?
It's true. We know. Shocking.
Whilst we're best known for helping future Transport Managers survive the joys of operator licensing, tachographs, compliance and enough legislation to fill a small library, we also deliver:
✅ Transport Manager CPC
✅ Transport Manager Refresher
✅ Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT)
✅ Yard Shunter Training
✅ Banksman / Traffic Marshal Training
✅ Tail Lift Training
✅ Traffic Office Training
All delivered with practical knowledge, real-world experience and absolutely minimal corporate waffle.
Whether you're looking to upskill your team, stay compliant, or simply avoid that awkward "we didn't know we needed training for that" conversation, we're here to help.
As a small family-run business, you'll get actual humans, flexible support, and training designed for the real world of transport and logistics.
Drop us a message if you'd like to know more.
We'll even try not to talk about tachographs for at least the first five minutes.
Today's summary:
08:00 – Warm.
10:00 – Very warm.
12:00 – Unreasonably warm.
14:00 – Started listening for the ice cream van.
15:00 – Convinced every passing vehicle was the ice cream van.

The company's morale now depends entirely on a Mr Whippy.
