On Sunday 8th June 2022, Zawiyah hosted an Eid Celebration event for its students and their families.
The event was held at Marlborough School and over 150 attended. There was fun for all the family with a wide range of activities including archery, face painting, henna, football and giant children’s games.
Everyone also enjoyed the excellent food, gourmet ice cream by and pink tea that has become a signature of Zawiyah events!
The most lasting memory, however, will be of the atmosphere. There was a real sense of community and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying each other’s company and the sweet sound of excited children having fun. It was a good reminder of our original goal to create a community where children not only learn but also have fun and form strong friendships.
Time was also taken to remember and support those who are less fortunate within our communities. Families generously donated 13 Bundles of food and toiletries to support the foodbank operated by the charity and also made donations to the value of £150.
Last by no means least we would like to express our gratitude to all of our volunteers, parents and teachers who worked so hard to make this event a success.
