❓️ How does HEP Primary Science address key issues faced in the leading and teaching of Primary Science?

4️⃣ HEP Science is shaped by four key principles:

🌳 Scope - Science is broad, knowledge-rich, and rooted in real-life things

💡 Sequence - The order of topics means pupils are not asked to understand ideas they haven't come across before

🔗 Coherence - New learning links back to earlier science and prepares pupils for what comes next

🤔 Rigour - All pupils think hard about science, with scaffolds that remove access barriers rather than lower the bar

🌟 These four principles ensure we move away from narrow coverage in the curriculum. There is progression rather than repetition; pupils can connect ideas, and they aren't locked out of lessons because of language or access barriers.
