A consistent and funded cancer policy is essential for improving cancer survival.
For the first time, the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership (ICBP) has discovered a link between cancer policy consistency over time and cancer survival.
The partnership hosted by Cancer Research UK (CRUK) aims to identify factors driving differences in cancer survival to identify ways to improve patient care.

Aducanumab (Aduhelm), a drug intended to treat Alzheimer's disease, raised concerns about FDA's accelerated approval process. FDA approves drugs when sponsors complete confirmatory trials promptly and provide evidence of their clinical benefits. For a variety of reasons, sponsors may not always complete trials promptly. A drug may remain on the market and be given to patients for years without being shown to have the predicted clinical benefit.

University of Dundee researchers have been awarded funding for pre-clinical drug trials on Chagas disease.
The disease is rarely reported in the UK, but this is partially due to a lack of testing and general awareness. Research at Dundee has been awarded £4.4 million to study a disease that can kill victims without them knowing they have it.

'Updates on ICH GCP (R3)'
ICH GCP changes are happening so fast that even seasoned clinical trial professionals find it hard to keep up.
The International Council for Harmonisation released a draft of ICH E6(R3) in April 2021, with two annexes to follow in 2022. Clinical research organizations should familiarize themselves with the basic R3 guidelines before the updates are released.
