The children in the Ash room are currently learning British Sign Language (BSL). We are in our second week, and the children are getting to grips with everyday words. We use gestures and our voices during lessons. Today, we focused on animals. We used puppets like dogs, fish, ducks, birds, and cats as visual aids while singing and signing. After that, we sang a counting song and used our bodies and signs. We also played a game where the children shared and took turns with their friends as they passed the puppets around the circle. This activity helped improve their listening and attention skills. By learning BSL, the Ash room children are enhancing their communication skills. This will enable them to be better in supporting them to express themselves as well as communicate with children who may have additional needs.

We had an amazing time celebrating the Indian festival of Holi with our children at the nursery! Our children had the opportunity to engage in creative and sensory experiences, exploring a range of colourful powders, paints, and water to create their own Holi art pieces. We also incorporated Holi-themed stories, songs, and dances to immerse our children in the cultural traditions of the festival.
Our celebration of Holi allowed us to promote cultural awareness and understanding among our children, fostering a sense of respect and appreciation for diverse cultures and traditions. Seeing our children working together, learning from one another, and having fun in the process was amazing!
Our nursery strives to provide engaging and educational experiences for our children that support their overall development. Our celebration of Holi was a wonderful opportunity to do just that, and we are thrilled to have had the chance to celebrate this colourful and vibrant festival with our children.

As the annual Red Nose Day approaches, the excitement in the day nursery is palpable. The official day is Friday 17th March, but we'll be talking about comic relief during the week.
The children are busy making their own red noses, which they proudly show off to their friends. The staff has put together a fun-packed schedule of activities for the day, including face painting, crafts, and a special Red Nose Day themed snack.
We have included a link to the official comic relief page donations The nursery is also collecting donations for the Red Nose Day charity, which supports disadvantaged children worldwide. As the children eagerly await the day, they are learning the value of giving back and helping others, which is an important lesson that will stay with them for life.

Happy World Book Day everyone! ππ We had an amazing time celebrating this special day with our little ones. Our staff dressed up as characters from the beloved children's book 'The Gruffalo'; the children couldn't have been more excited!
We read the story together, acted it out, and even made some Gruffalo-themed crafts. It was wonderful to see the children's imaginations come alive as they explored the world of the Gruffalo.
We believe that books are magical, and they have the power to transport us to different worlds and teach us important lessons. We're thrilled to have had the opportunity to celebrate World Book Day and inspire a love of reading in our little ones.
What did you do to celebrate World Book Day? Let us know in the comments below! πβ¨

ππ₯ We had an exciting day at our day nursery today! π₯π
We conducted a fire drill with the children, and they did an amazing job of evacuating the building safely and calmly. We are proud of how well they followed instructions and listened to their teachers. π€
But that's not all - we were also visited by the local fireman! ππ¨βπ The children had the opportunity to meet them and learn about fire safety from an expert. They even toured the fire engine and try on a firefighter's hat! π₯π©βπ
The children were thrilled to learn about fire safety and to meet a real-life hero. We want to thank the fireman for visiting us and sharing their knowledge with the children. π
At our day nursery, we take the safety and well-being of our children very seriously. Conducting fire drills and teaching fire safety is just one of the ways we ensure that our nursery is a safe place for children to learn and grow. πͺ
Thank you to all the children and staff for making today's fire drill a success and to the fireman for making it an extra special day for our little ones. π

Bright sunshine and chilly shades. Spring is in the air and weβve been creating our very own wall art. The children loved attaching individual branches and leaves to create their very own scenery. The daffodils are beginning to flower and the birds are making their nests, letβs go out enjoy this time of the year.
