Whatever else history debates about him, this is true:
He stayed in the fight.
Through humiliation. Through backlash. Through illness. Through a country that keeps forgetting its own lessons.
He kept showing up.
That kind of stamina is rare. And costly.
May we study it carefully.

This UK Black History Month, and are profiling 21 Black women who refused to wait for permission to build. Today, Dame Linda Dobbs — the first Black woman appointed to the High Court of England and Wales.
She built a legal career inside one of Britain’s most elite, most white, most male institutions — and rose to the top anyway.
She didn’t wait for justice to make room for her. She made herself undeniable.
Stories like hers remind us what conditioning can’t erase — power, brilliance, and the will to build even inside systems built to exclude us.
But too many of us still internalise that exclusion. We downplay what we’ve earned. We wait for permission that will never come.
