This Ms Peacock - a design for a pair of exotic earrings and a central forehead ornament... with peacock inspired makeup. Rather 'turn of the 20th century' Art Nouveau in style! Or 1920s flapper...

This is 'Amber'... showing another graphic earring and makeup design. Playing with fine lines and dots again!

A pen and ink fantasy illustration/sketch that I did for no particular reason!... I just love depicting an attractive line and form...

Gold earring graphic design (for advert) plus makeup face chart (I made a prototype pair of these earrings in brass/bronze and have most probably lost them!!). Ouch!! :o(😿

Frangipani makeup face chart influenced by my time in Thailand... with its flagrantly perfumed, perfect white and yolk yellow blossoms...

I've got to say something because it irritates me soooooo much!!! The dreadful lack of makeup skills on Love Island! Hey - I know it's a trashy voyeuristic gladiatorial show but 'current' and addictive all the same... Without mentioning any names - my biggest gripes:
1. Stop the strobing! Mega-highlighted shiny areas on noses/foreheads/chins look fake and robotic.
2. Yellow faces! Stop using warm/yellow toned Banana Powder/foundation if you naturally have cooler/pinker skin! It looks soooo crazy having a face a different colour to your body!!!
3. Shiny noses! (pat off excess oil with beauty blotting papers or a tissue. Lightly dust with the finest 'translucent' powder or apply classic Vanishing Cream or Matte Pore Reducing Primer.)
4. Stop trying to make your perfectly sized lips look overblown! Apart from rubber-ring lip fillers - stop going above top lips (badly!) with liner/lipstick! Unless you have a very steady hand and artistic eye - you can only carefully go underneath the lip line (as this area has a natural shadow).
5. Forget that brown 'ombre' style lipstick. It looks completely rubbish!!!!!
6. Double/full lashes in daytime look faaaaar too fake/obvious and actually 'close' your eyes with their weight! (Not open them!)
On a positive note - the brows are somewhat better this year - except for those highly filled/smooth lined ones! (Soooo fake!!!!).
Yes Hugo - I totally agree with you!!!!!
My motto: Only do fake if it looks natural!

Just published a blog on how to make a simple 'chair arm cover' coif cap (with hardly any sewing!). How I love car boot fayres for wonderful second hand/pre-loved and vintage items. Perfect for upcycling into amazing, inexpensive costume pieces!
