When I started teaching this child in Year 5, she was rarely in class because of all the SEND interventions. In Year 7, she was placed in the lowest sets for maths and English, but she never stopped oding her best and I continued to teach her the maths and Language appropriate for her year group.

By Year 9 she had worked her way out of the bottom set in maths to Set 3 (which means that she will sit the Higher paper) and so didn't need me any more!

To see her progress in English Lit and Lang from reading interventions to a predicted Grade 4+ makes me to so happy! This child got her lightbulb moment in maths and now English, and now nothing can stop her from succeeding!

I'll say It again! I LOVE MY JOB!!!!!

TOP TIP: PI is just one of the many maths facts that your child needs to use and apply to get a successful pass at GCSE. Sometimes just knowing these facts and formulas will lead them to the answer without additional complicated calculations. Make sure that your child knows their basic maths vocabulary and formulae! They are fundamental building blocks on the journey to maths success!
