💻 What happens to retired workplace technology can have a much bigger impact than people realise.

AKG has partnered with Make IT Good to ensure retired laptops are refurbished and redistributed to schools, charities and community organisations instead of heading to landfill.

The initiative not only helps reduce electronic waste and improve access to affordable technology, but also supports wider community impact, with a portion of proceeds from refurbished devices going directly to Velocity Racers - a wheelchair racing charity supporting disabled children and adults.

A brilliant example of how operational decisions can create meaningful social and environmental impact! 💚

Most people are carrying more than you can see.

Mental health exists quietly inside everyday life - in our routines, our energy levels, our relationships and the things we rarely say out loud.

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme is Action, and sometimes the most important actions are the smallest ones. A walk. A conversation. Fresh air. Taking a proper break. Checking in on someone.

At AKG, we’ve shared some reflections on why small actions matter, alongside the importance of feeling supported, listened to and understood 💚

We’re also proud to be supporting YoungMinds through Wear It Green Day this week.

Access to talent is changing, but recruitment approaches don’t always keep up.

In a tight labour market, many organisations are still drawing from the same talent pools, which can limit who gets through the door.

Inclusive recruitment isn’t about lowering standards. It’s about widening access and recognising potential in places that are often overlooked.

When done well, it leads to stronger teams, better retention, and a workforce that better reflects the communities it serves.

“Social recruitment is the right thing to do.”
But what if it’s also one of the most practical ways to solve today’s hiring challenges?

We recently brought together employers and partners for our webinar, Social Recruitment in Practice, exploring how businesses can widen talent pools, strengthen local community links, and build more sustainable recruitment strategies.

Led by Lisa Nixon, Director of Employer Engagement at AKG UK, the session shared honest conversations and practical examples from organisations already putting social recruitment into action.
