Throughout the Spring Term, Ms Sullivan & our Year 9 students have been hard at work creating a mural for the WAC Arts Schools festival. The pupils took part in three sessions led by artist Molly Bonnell to create a textile that represents a thematic message for the youth of 2026. Everyone worked incredibly hard on the project & it was amazing to see our work displayed for the public! Wac Arts

Without a doubt one of the best weekends of the academic year! Before the half-term break, our Year 7s headed over to PGL to take on a set of team-building challenges & push their limits. Both staff & students had a fantastic time & we can't wait to hold it again next year.

To finish off the half-term, the Languages department hosted an MFL poetry contest for our Year 8s. With over 20 entrants, it was great to see so many of students putting their skills into practice. After the break, two winners will be announced to represent The Hurlingham Academy at St Mary's University

One of the highlights of our extra‑curricular offering from last half‑term had to be Bake Off!
Our Year 7 and Year 8 students faced off against one another in form groups to see which team could create the best‑decorated set of biscuits. It was a tight contest, with all pupils putting in an excellent effort, but 7U took the victory for the Year 7s, while 8H came out on top for the Year 8s.

Our Year 9 & Year 10 students had a fantastic visit to the Christ Church campus at Oxford University. The pupils had the opportunity to quiz a few current languages undergraduates on their experience at university, before taking part in an admissions quiz activity.
