Today marks two years since Palestinian Resistance conducted Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a bold and meticulously executed plan that sent shock-waves across the world. Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was a decolonial earthquake, a historic rupture that shattered the illusion of invincibility surrounding one of the most militarised and technologically fortified borders on Earth. For the people of Gaza, for Palestinians everywhere, and for the global movement in solidarity with their struggle, Al-Aqsa Flood is a refusal to submit and disappear under Israeli colonisation. On a deeper level, it was the inevitable eruption of generations of accumulated rage, born from systemic erasure, relentless violence, and the unyielding will to exist in the face of colonial domination.

INTRODUCING PROJECT AL-AQSA FLOOD

This project is the result of a year-long process of painstaking research and careful articulation. It seeks to cut through the lies produced by Israeli propaganda and reinforced by Western political and media complicity, narratives that create consent for genocide, by re-establishing the truth of October 7.

The project will be presented first on Instagram, through a series of 7 chapters:

Genocide perpetrators bank on silencing voices susceptible to warn the world in order to avoid scrutiny over the action being carried out. They also do so to avoid future accountability, going to great lengths to cover their tracks and keep the action sealed. This practice has been a constant for any and all Israeli assaults on Palestinians. In the darkness, there is light: those that risk their lives to tell us the truth, in an era which allows us to connect directly with the source, diving directly into the uncomfortable and traumatising intimacy of those who are living through genocide, who are sharing with us more than has ever been shared about such crimes, live from the field.

Journalists are the first to ring the alarm, filming and photographing, gathering accounts and publishing stories. They feed the media system with necessary footage that also constitutes, in some instances, evidence of war crimes.

Beyond the media, another profession is also central to breaking the silence and bringing forward the truth: healthcare workers. They are on the frontline of death and injury, and through their work, identify patterns of injury and evidence of illegal weapons that can be used as proof in later trials. In Gaza, for example, doctors and nurses gather mass evidence of sniper shots taken to the head targeting children, a practice Israel has always denied, but that today is undeniable in the face of mounting evidence.

Genocide is a project of erasure, designed to break a people at every level of life. It works through bombardment and starvation, but also through the less visible weapons: deliberate weakening of fragmentation of society through psychological warfare, lawfare, and the criminalisation of solidarity. Palestinians are being isolated from each other, from the outside world, and from those who would stand beside them.

This isolation is enforced through the destruction of infrastructure, the silencing of journalists, the fragmentation of families across borders, and the targeting of aid workers, academics, and activists worldwide. It is reinforced in Israeli society itself, where dehumanisation has become the norm, and in international institutions where accountability is blocked, corrupted, or threatened into paralysis.

But the attempt to erase is also met with refusal. Across continents, people continue to resist silencing, speak out, mobilise, and remember. Solidarity is a lifeline, a force that interrupts isolation and challenges the machinery of genocide. If your voice did not matter, there would not be such determined efforts to intimidate you into silence.

Israel’s genocide is a war on reproduction, a war on continuity. Women and children are the deliberate targets of a strategy designed to sever the generational continuity of Palestinian life on the land.

Israel acts deliberately and intentionally. Pregnant women are killed or denied medical care as hospitals and maternity wards are destroyed, forcing miscarriages and stillbirths. Mothers are slaughtered alongside their children, entire family lines erased from the civil registry. Infants are starved by restrictions on baby formula, their fragile bodies claimed first by famine. Children are buried under rubble, traumatised, displaced, denied healthcare, stripped of their innocence and future. Young people are deprived of education as schools and universities are obliterated, their knowledge and potential deliberately extinguished.

This is a systematic assault on every reproductive stage of Palestinian life: womanhood, pregnancy, infancy, childhood, and youth. To attack all these stages simultaneously is to sabotage the continuity of society itself. That is genocide. Nearly two years into the onslaught, this has become a Holocaust.

“Everybody has to move, run and grab as many hilltops as they can to enlarge the settlements, because everything we take now will stay ours. Everything we don’t grab will go to them.” Ariel Sharon, November 15, 1998, Addressing a meeting of the Tsomet Party, AFP

Ariel Sharon’s quote is textbook Zionism, exactly as the ideology was intended to be enacted since its inception in the context of violent European ethno-nationalism and brutal settler colonisation. His call to “grab hilltops” formed part of a broader policy widely understood to have sabotaged any prospect of Palestinian territorial contiguity.

Sharon’s words reflected the continuity of a core Zionist project of land seizure and colonisation that pre-dated Oslo, the Nakba, and even the 1917 Balfour Declaration. In 1998, there were approximately 170,000 Israeli settlers in the West Bank. By 2025, this number has grown to nearly 700,000, 10 percent of Israel’s nearly 7 million population, living in 150 settlements and 128 outposts dotting the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

On July 28, 2025, Awdah Hathaleen, a 31‑year‑old Palestinian English teacher, activist and consultant on the 2024 Oscar‑winning documentary No Other Land, was fatally shot by an Israeli settler, Yinon Levi, in the South Hebron Hills near the village of Umm al‑Khair in Masafer Yatta, West Bank. Levi had been previously sanctioned by the Biden administration but they were lifted by President Trump.

His death is one of 1000s of deaths that continue to happen because of the domestic terrorism unleashed by Israeli settlers often aided by the IDF.

What must be remembered is that these violent statements are not few and far between, nor are they contextual to what is erroneously portrayed as a “conflict” between “two sides”; rather, they are consistent with the Zionist ideology as a settler colonial endeavour.

The past 22 months have exposed Israel, lifting the lid on a terrifying military-tech industry engineered for the control and subjugation of civilian populations. Gaza has become both a battlefield and a testing ground for these tools of domination, alongside the West Bank.

These technologies are not staying in Palestine. Israel is exporting them across the globe, embedding systems of surveillance, automated violence, and population control into regimes far beyond its borders. The consequences, already unfolding, will shape the future in ways that should alarm us all.

Their use reveals the deep entanglement between Israel, US tech giants, and the US government, an axis willing to unleash experimental weapons on civilians in the name of domination. In a world already marked by collapse and uncertainty, this risks becoming a blueprint.

Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia, recently said:
“Gaza is simply an experiment of the mega-rich trying to show all the peoples of the world how to respond to a rebellion. The plan is to bomb us all, at least those of us in the South.”

In this moment, it is essential to resist and to remember that while technology can be programmed for death, it cannot erase truth. Palestinians exist, resist, and refuse to be erased.

MANIFESTO: At Sabar Project, our current research reframes the genocide in Gaza within a century-long Zionist campaign to erase Palestinian identity in complex, multi-dimensional ways. Genocide is not only physical destruction — it targets culture, memory, and identity, aiming to sever continuity across generations. Yet amid relentless violence, exile, and appropriation, Palestinians have preserved and reimagined their heritage. This deep connection to identity often begins in childhood, the sacred years where transmission happens.
