Sensory change is the idea that we as parents can help our children to overcome sensory integration issues and re-wire the connections in the brain were those connections are missing. I would love to help parents of children with sensory integration issues and share my success story and resources with you and at the same time raise awareness of the areas disciplines and resources in which we as parents can change the future of our children. I created this group to share information and resources with parents and give hope to others that change is possible.

Still searching for the next miracle therapy?

I get it.

You’ve read every article. Watched every video. Tried therapy after therapy, hoping this one would be the one that finally changes things.

And you’re still waiting.
So it’s tempting to think “maybe the next one is the one.”

That’s exactly why I want to talk to you about VSEL therapy.

Because chasing the next big therapy might be taking you further from what your child actually needs.
More therapy isn’t always the answer for your child. Sometimes you need to go back to the foundations first.

Think of it like planting seeds in your own garden.

If your child’s nervous system is stuck on high alert, ask yourself why.

Are they regulating properly?
Are they digesting and absorbing properly?
Are they getting the blood flow and nervous system input they need?
Are their foundations even ready to support their development?

You can plant the best seeds in the world.
But if your soil isn’t healthy, they won’t grow, no matter how many times you replant.

So before you chase the next big therapy, get your child’s foundations right first.

Regulation. Movement. Reflexes. The nervous system.
Build the soil. Then give your child’s brain the room it needs to grow.

A lot of parents ask us this one. When your child is stuck in high alert, kinesiology tape can help bring their nervous system back down.

It works by giving gentle, constant input to the skin and muscles, which signals safety to the brain.

Here’s exactly how we apply it 👇

Save this for the next time your child is having a hard time regulating.

Big news 🎉

I’m now a certified poi instructor.

Dr Kate Riegle van West’s PhD study at the University of Auckland found poi practice improved grip strength, balance and attention in just one month.

Bringing this into Hopeful Neuron sessions soon 👀

Primitive reflex exercises are everywhere online right now.

Lots of parents are trying them at home from videos they found on Instagram or YouTube. We get why. You want to help your child and you want to help now.

But here’s the thing. Reflex work isn’t one size fits all. The wrong exercise for the wrong reflex can do nothing. Sometimes it can make symptoms worse.

A trained practitioner checks which reflexes are actually retained before starting anything. They watch how your child responds and adjust the plan as they go. That’s not something a video can do.

If you’re not sure where to start, don’t guess. Book an assessment with someone qualified in reflex integration. Your child’s nervous system deserves more than trial and error.

You cannot pour calm into your child from an empty cup. Poi filled mine back up.

Since finding poi I’ve been exploring every way I can to actually manage my own stress, not just talk about it. Cranial nerves. The Big 6. Vagus nerve work. All the things I use with clients every day, I started turning on myself.

Poi was the missing piece. The rhythm, the coordination, the focus it demands. It’s not a gimmick. It’s a genuine nervous system reset.

Mums, you cannot regulate your child if you’re dysregulated yourself. Fill your own cup first. It’s not selfish, it’s the job.

This is one thing that helped me. Might help you too.

Your child’s brain isn’t lazy. It just hasn’t built the parts that make calm possible yet.

Telling a dysregulated child to “calm down” is asking a brain to do a job it can’t do yet. That’s why it doesn’t work.

BrainTap uses light, sound and guided audio to help the brain settle into a calm state on its own. No years of practice. No sitting still. No trying.

Just 10 minutes.

If your child struggles to settle, this could help.

our kid trips over nothing. Drops things for no reason. Falls off chairs. Can’t sit still at dinner.

Everyone calls him clumsy or lazy. He isn’t either.

His brain skipped a step. And it can catch up.

Kids who struggle with balance, coordination, or focus aren’t being naughty or careless. Their brain just needs a little extra help learning a skill most kids pick up without trying. The moment that skill clicks, everything else gets easier. Sitting still. Handwriting. Sports. Even mood.

Comment “GUIDE” and we’ll send you the free guide to help your child build better balance, movement, and focus, starting today.

Anger in kids is often a nervous system stuck “on,” not a behavior problem — this slow eye movement helps shift them out of fight-or-flight in under a minute, no talking or negotiating required. Have your child close their eyes, slowly look up toward the ceiling and hold for 1–2 seconds, then slowly look down and hold for 1–2 seconds — repeat 3 times, keeping the movement slow rather than snapping between positions. Then do the same side to side: look left and hold, then right and hold, for 3 repetitions.

Babies are born with a startle reflex. It should fade by 6 months. If it doesn’t, the brain stays on high alert. It watches for danger everywhere, even when there is none. So the child tries to control everything around them. It feels safer that way.

Exercise:
Lie on your back. Stretch your arms and legs out wide, like a starfish. On the count of 3, pull them in tight, curl into a ball. Hold. Then slowly stretch back out. Do this 8 to 10 times, once a day.
