This week is our final week before the Easter holidays! ✨🐣

We’ll be baking and decorating Easter biscuits 🍪🎨 and solving fun maths challenges hidden inside our Easter eggs. 🥚➕

It’s going to be a time full of creativity, problem-solving, and lots of smiles 😄💡

We can’t wait to share the fun with you!

This week in our Baking class, we’re getting creative!

We’ll be making colourful vegetable kebabs by cutting peppers, courgettes, onions and halloumi, then arranging them on skewers to create fun repeating patterns. 🥒🍅🧅🧀

While our kebabs bake, we’ll keep our brains busy with maths challenges and logical thinking games to develop our problem-solving skills. 🧠✨

A perfect mix of food, fun and learning!

This week at Baking Club we’re exploring shapes and perimeters in the most delicious way! 🥧✨

First, we cut perfect circles from our dough and create beautiful apple tarts, carefully decorating the tops with fresh apple slices.

While our tasty tarts bake, we switch from baking to stitching! Using shapes drawn on hessian, we measure each side to find the perimeter, then use thread to sew along the edges and mark the outline of our shapes. 🧵📏

A fun mix of baking, maths, and creativity!

We’re back after a short break!

This week, we will make Mac & Cheese Cupcakes while exploring different measuring cups and learning about their sizes through hands-on cooking.

Our younger children will be focusing on noticing the number 5 and counting in 5s.

For our older children, the challenge will be solving calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division — with every answer leading to one special number placed in the centre of their page.

Learning, problem-solving and a lot of fun!

Last week at our Tuition and Baking Club, pupils took part in a range of engaging maths activities. We explored fractions, compared greater and smaller numbers, and used a creative Big Ben building activity to support learning of the three times table.

As we approach our final week before half-term, children are looking forward to baking. They will be making breadsticks while developing their understanding of measurement and the perimeter of shapes.
At Buzz through Maths, learning should be enjoyable, meaningful, and hands-on. Find out more about us at www.buzzthroughmaths.co.uk

Last week we had so much fun baking and exploring fractions through measurement.
🧁
This week, we’re continuing our maths adventure with ¼!

What can we make when we divide the dough into quarters?

What patterns can we create when we collect the same amount of four different colours of beads? 🎨

Hands-on learning brings maths to life because fractions make the most sense when you can see them, touch them, or play with them! ✨

This week in our Baking Club, we’re combining baking, building, and maths! 🍞📐
The children will be making plaited bread while exploring fractions such as ½ and ⅓ through real-life, hands-on experiences.

They’ll also take on a fun challenge: Can you build something that is ½ or ⅓ of your own height? It’s a wonderful way to bring maths to life through creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

We can’t wait to see what they make and build!

We had so much fun last week, and this week the learning continues! 🧁✨
We’re making fairy cakes and bringing fractions to life, half vanilla and half chocolate.
While our cakes are in the oven, we’ll keep exploring fractions by sharing buttons into different groups. Learning has never been so delicious! 🍫➗🧁

Our Baking club and tuition are back! Happy New Year to you all!
In our tuition, we have started looking at measurements and multiplication.
This week in our Baking Club, we’ll be learning about shapes by baking potato animals 🥔🐾. We’ll think about which shapes we need for eyes, ears, or tails, and how we can create those shapes using vegetables.

While our animals are baking, we’ll explore measurement and simple calculations. For example: if I have a 10cm or 20cm strip, how many different sticks or blocks can I use to make the same length? Can I write a calculation to show my thinking?

A fun, hands-on week of learning ahead!
