Personal, social and health education is delivered by specialist staff through social and emotional lessons. Key themes are reinforced through assemblies and tutor-time activities. External speakers teach pupils about being safe and promote debate and discussion about staying safe online and in the community.

Pupils know about fundamental British values and the protected characteristics. Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is mapped out clearly across the curriculum. For example, pupils in Year 7 learn about healthy lifestyles, before they explore the consumption of energy drinks in Year 8 and substance abuse in Year 9. Relationships and s*x education is taught sensitively and age-appropriately. Pupils have a clear understanding of consent and healthy relationships. Pupils learn about the importance of consent and forming healthy, positive relationships. They know about online risks, as well as the dangers of other behaviours like drug abuse. They are aware of the importance of rejecting discrimination of any kind. Pupils across the school, including in the sixth form, develop substantial and often sophisticated knowledge about these aspects and many, many more. For example, they know about why democracy is central to our way of life. They also develop strong moral understanding and know what is right and wrong. "
