Today, our pupils took part in an engaging workshop delivered by the London Air Ambulance Charity, where they learned about the vital role the air ambulance plays in saving lives. They explored what happens during emergency call-outs, who is on board the helicopter, local incidents including those in Redbridge, and the different parts of the aircraft and equipment used. Pupils were especially fascinated to learn about the many people and organisations involved in supporting the service, including how supporters’ names are printed underneath the helicopters. A huge thank you to the London Air Ambulance Charity for educating and inspiring our pupils. 🚁

While temperatures rise outside, learning stays cool at Winston Way Academy. ☀️❄️

Each and Every classroom at Winston Way is fully air-conditioned, helping to maintain consistent comfort throughout the day. Our classrooms provide a calm, cool environment where pupils can stay focused, engaged and ready to learn; whatever the weather brings.

In addition, as part of the Mayor of London’s Cleaner Air initiative, we’ve also installed high-quality “Blast” air purifiers in every room, ensuring clean, fresh air for both pupils and staff. 🌿

The right environment makes all the difference. Cool temperatures, clean air and comfortable spaces mean sharper focus, healthier classrooms and happier learners. It’s all part of our commitment to putting pupil and staff wellbeing first; every single day, whatever the forecast.

🤩 What would it feel like to experience the energy of a live Baller League match, surrounded by celebrities, cheering fans, and non-stop action? 🤩

Thanks to our wonderful Sports Partner, Sports2Inspire, we were incredibly lucky to secure tickets to take a group of year 6 children to the live Baller League match at Copper Box Arena in Stratford yesterday evening.

From the moment they arrived, there was a real sense that this was something special. The lights, the music, the energy of the crowd and the fast-paced, high-intensity matches created an atmosphere unlike anything they had experienced before.

Their excitement reached another level when the children spotted famous faces including KSI, Sharky, and Idris Elba, they were absolutely thrilled! The crowd was buzzing, with fans even creating their own chants to cheer on their teams.

And then came the moment that made the evening even more magical — during half-time, signed Baller League t-shirts were launched into the crowd… and incredibly, one of them found its way into the hands of one our pupil! We brought it home!

As if that wasn’t enough, the children also had the opportunity to take a photograph with a player they admire — creating a personal memory they will treasure forever.
This was far more than just a trip. It was about broadening horizons, raising aspirations and showing our children what is possible. At our school, we are committed to providing experiences that go beyond the everyday — opportunities that inspire, excite and leave a lasting impact.

Because we believe every child deserves moments like this. Moments that build confidence, spark ambition and create memories that last a lifetime. ✨
A huge thank you to Sports2Inspire for helping us continue to provide such exceptional opportunities for our pupils.

Year 5 pupils enjoyed an educational trip to the Canal & River Trust at Stratford Olympic Park. During the visit, the children explored the local waterways and learned about their importance, development and impact on the surrounding environment. This valuable experience will support and enrich the children’s learning in Geography, helping them to make meaningful links between classroom learning and the real world.
