Australia is currently experiencing one of the strictest restrictions in the world as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We’re so encouraged in being able to support professionals who are ensuring children’s continued social learning.

As we partnered children in thinking about joining others, which they wanted to learn, we engaged in a 2-way process where they taught us to look deeper. We learnt that showing the children ‘what to do and say’ only let them see the surface but didn’t address the social understanding they needed to make their own independent choices.

Check out a couple of examples of how you can provide social information.
Social information equips the neurodiverse child with confidence in understanding social experiences. They best benefit from a ‘social road map’ that explains how social interaction works and enables them to make informed choices in a demanding social world.
