Odd Socks Day, celebrated on November 13th during Anti-Bullying Week, encourages children to wear odd, colorful socks as a celebration of individuality and uniqueness. By proudly wearing their odd socks, children express themselves freely and without fear of judgment, affirming the message that being true to oneself is always more than enough. ❤️ ❤️ 💕 💞

To abandon your children to grandparents, neighbors, or relatives, while you pursue work opportunities abroad or elsewhere is not the best decision as a parent. Could happen for a short period of time, if necessary, but too long is coming with consequences and clearly show from parents side, lack of responsibility, empathy etc. Consider the implications: sacrificing your child's future, happiness, and well-being. Is it truly worth it? Looking for new opportunities should never come at the expense of their emotional development or happiness. If you know at least one family which managed to keep the child next to them at all time, us, me and my husband, while both being romanian working parents living abroad, UK, then you can do it as well, no doubts. Having help from no one, just two of us. Maria started nursery at the age of 11 months for 3 days a week and me(mother), happily returned to the office to my beloved spreadsheets. No more abandoned children!

Pregnancy and maternity experience - UK
The maternity period stands out as the most fulfilling time of my life. During pregnancy, I experienced the pinnacle of femininity and embraced my role as a mother. Thankfully, there were no morning sicknesses or late-night cravings for ice cream or strawberries but for pickels when I fastly ran to romanian shop. Opting for a natural birth, I focused not on the anticipated pain but on the moment I would cradle my baby in my arms. Recovery was swift and fast.

Although I had the option to give birth in water or use pain relief methods available in UK the intensity of the pain made it impossible for me to request for these alternatives. Husband supported me unconditionally for delivery and beyond. Communication in English posed a challenge during the ordeal therefore he act as a translator between me, three midwifes and a doctor.

When our baby arrived, she was placed directly on my chest and latched onto my breast moments later. I breastfed her for 18 months, with six months exclusively and then alternating with solid food. Despite researching stem cell collection, we ultimately decided against it, unsure if it was the right choice.

I appreciated the fully equipped hospital rooms that allowed my baby to remain with me at all times, avoiding separation even for a moment. All check-ups were conducted under my watchful eyes. While I initially avoided using a pacifier, the anxiety surrounding sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) made me reconsider, and I would now recommend it as a precaution.

Maria started nursery at 11 months, three days a week, allowing me to return to the office to my beloved spreadsheets, after two years leave, compounded by the pandemic. Feedback from the nursery indicated that she is a happy, engaged child, participating in activities and prefered by messy ones, and most important interacting kindly with others. Shes now 3, jumping from todlers group to preschool.
