The ADHD Coaching Summit is in full swing but it’s not too late to join us

We’re only halfway through Day 1 of the UK’s first ADHD Coaching Summit and the insights have already been game-changing.

David Giwerc set the tone, reminding us why certified ADHD coaching is not just important - but essential. His explanation of what makes the coaching process so transformative for ADHDers (and their coaches!) was powerful.

Ruth Dines followed with a therapist’s lens, sharing how ADHD-informed therapy helps parents understand their own ADHD so they can show up more compassionately for themselves and their children.

Still to come: Bea Tamizi will speak about our parent training sessions at St Albans Girls’ School and we interview Wrexham University about how to support students with ADHD through the university years.

Whether you’re a coach, educator, employer or parent - you’ll want to hear this.

There’s still time to join us live. Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Lxn84kyrQDeim3ePGYwJ0w

The UK’s only ADHD Coaching Summit starts today

Today is all about families, individuals and educators - the people shaping the foundations of ADHD understanding and support.

We’re kicking off with none other than David Giwerc, founder of ADDCA, the global pioneer of ADHD coaching.

And throughout the day you’ll hear:

• First-hand stories from ADHDers who’ve changed their lives through coaching

• Interviews with Wrexham University and St Albans Girls’ High School on how they’re embedding ADHD support in education

• Insightful sessions packed with practical tools for parents, carers and teachers

If you want to understand what actually works to support ADHD, not just manage it, this is the place to be.

Are you joining us? There’s still time to register:

There have been many conversations on social media lately regarding concerns over the lack of regulation of ADHD Coaching. Its true - the lack of standards is deeply concerning, especially as demand continues to surge.

That said, rigorous, certified ADHD coach training has existed for decades. ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA), founded by David Giwerc in 1998, is International Coaching Federation-accredited and trains coaches to understand the unique brain wiring of ADHD through demonstrated skill and behavioural competencies.

Having ADHD doesn’t qualify someone to coach others with ADHD. It’s not enough to mean well - it’s about being effective. Its also very much about not doing any harm given how vulnerable ADHDers can be.

We've been raising awareness around the importance of certified ADHD Coaching through our annual UK ADHD Coaching Summit. This is our third year and we can't wait to hear once again from David Giwerc, who will be speaking on this very subject.

You don't want to miss hearing David Giwerc! If you haven't done so already, do register to come and hear him speak:

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, also known as White Ribbon Day, marks the start of 16 days of activism across the UK. Wearing a white ribbon is a pledge to never commit, excuse or remain silent about male violence against women.

This year’s White Ribbon theme, ‘We Speak Up’, calls on individuals and organisations to speak up and create a world where women and girls are safe, equal and respected. As part of across Berkshire, RBWM & Bracknell Forest Council are offering a series of online themed bite sized training sessions to practitioners. I’m proud to be delivering a session on: “The Invisible Trap - Neurodivergent Women and the Unseen Risk of Domestic Abuse.”

Women and girls with ADHD are far more vulnerable to coercion and abuse - but rarely seen as such. In this powerful session, I explore how rejection sensitivity, people pleasing, overwhelm and memory challenges make neurodivergent women more prone to gaslighting and emotional harm. Ill challenge outdated narratives, highlight the warning signs professionals often miss, and explain how childhood messages of being “too much” leave many ADHD women believing they deserve less.

When ADHD Meets Body Battles…

When ADHD meets Body Battles - it gets personal.

This ADHD Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on one of the least talked about - yet most damaging - aspects of ADHD: the impact it has on our relationship with our bodies.

So many of the young people we coach at Empower ADHD are locked in silent battles with body image, fitness obsession and disordered eating. It's not about vanity. It's about control, overwhelm, emotional dysregulation - and a world that demands perfection.

I’m thrilled to be joined by the brilliant ANITA BHAGWANDAS author of "Ugly", and Jenny Tomei Eating Disorder Coach and Nutritional Therapist, for a powerful 15-minute interview during Academic Success Week.

Register here to watch live tomorrow on Linkedin at 1pm Tuesday 7 October 2025: https://www.linkedin.com/events/whenadhdmeetsbodybattles7372289188592852992/theater/

Let’s break the silence - and change the story.

I’m on You’re Wrong About ADHD!

Still can’t quite believe I got to speak on one of the most iconic ADHD podcasts talking all things uni, executive function, and what real support for ADHD students should look like.

For years I tried to get universities to take ADHD seriously… no one was biting. I let it go.

Then out of the blue - Wrexham University (in Wales, and with the biggest contingent of students with ADHD/ND in the UK) reached out. No chasing, no persuading - just a real, shared commitment to building something that works.

Through Empower ADHD, we’re now co-creating an online ADHD Course for students and training their support team next month. It’s early days, but it already feels like a turning point.

💬 And please share it with anyone working in education - this convo needs to grow.

Sometimes the work feels invisible… until suddenly, it’s not.

Thanks to everyone who’s encouraged me to keep believing in this work. You’ve helped make moments like this possible x

Choosing the Right Running Partner (in Work and Life)

Charlie* had always known he needed others around him to get things done. But it wasn’t until he found himself stuck at a muddy trail running festival, with a friend whose idea of “support” was a pint and a party, that it clicked.

The right “body double” isn’t just someone who’s there. It’s someone who reflects your values, helps you stay focused, and holds you accountable without judgment.

In coaching, we unpacked:

1) Why some people energise him while others derail him.
2) How social anxiety was masking his real needs in relationships.
3) The role of emotional safety in making progress—at work and in love.

Top tip: A “body double” isn’t just for productivity. It’s a strategic partnership.

First step: Next time you team up with someone—on a task, an event or a conversation—pause and ask: How can we support each other to do our best?
