Matilda Feyiṣayọ Ibini is one of eight writer's to receive the prestigious 2025 Windham-Campbell Prize from Yale University, one of the world’s most significant international literary awards! 🏆✨

Each recipient is honoured for their literary excellence or promise and will receive $175,000 to support their work.

Matilda’s journey began at London Met, where she studied Creative Writing and English Literature, before earning a Master’s in Playwriting and Screenwriting at City St George’s, University of London – supported by a BAFTA and Warner Bros. scholarship. Today, Matilda is a multi-award-winning playwright and screenwriter, making waves in the industry.

It’s always inspiring to see our alumni achieving incredible things and shaping the world through their work. Congratulations, Matilda– so well deserved! 🎭📖👏

Earlier this week a Community Iftar was hosted in our Great Hall, organised by our Centre for Equity and Inclusion, Students' Union and student societies! ✨🌙

This annual event brought together students and staff to break their fast during Ramadan. This is always one of our most popular student events on campus, with over 250 students and staff in attendance.

It's truly special to see everyone unite and celebrate during such a joyous and sacred time for our Muslim community and we wish you all a blessed and peaceful Ramadan for the remainder of the month. ☪️🤲

🥇 Congratulations to Dr Ioannis Tsougos, an alumnus of The University of Edinburgh and London Metropolitan University, and national winner of the Study UK Social Action Award 2025!

Ioannis has led transformative educational reforms, revolutionising teaching methodologies across Greek universities, including a national Train the Trainers programme that has impacted 6,000 medical students and professors across the seven medical schools in Greece.
