Welcome back to school or work! Now's the time where we all have come back from our holidays and we've returned to work. In French, we call it 'la rentrée', which means 'the return'!

🚂 le train-train (the daily routine, the daily grind)
🇫🇷 Nous voilà en septembre, chacun reprend son train-train habituel.
🇬🇧 September is here, everyone is getting back into their usual routine.

🛁 se remettre dans le bain (to get back into the swing of things)
🇫🇷 Il m'a fallu trois jours pour me remettre dans le bain après mes congés.
🇬🇧 It took me three days to get back into the swing of things after my holiday.

🍞 avoir du pain sur la planche (to have a lot of to do, literally: to have bread on the board)
🇫🇷 Depuis mon retour, j'ai du pain sur la planche.
🇬🇧 Since I got back, I have a lot to do.

🚄💼😴 métro-boulot-dodo (the rat race, métro is short for métropolitain or subway, boulot is an informal word for travail or work, and dodo is a child's word for sleep.)
🇫🇷 En ce moment, on n'arrête pas. C'est métro-boulot-dodo.
🇬🇧 We don't seem to stop at the moment. It's a real rat race.
