Our Grade 11 students recently visited London Zoo as part of their Collaborative Sciences Project, exploring the role of modern zoos in animal conservation. 🦁🌿

Marking the Zoo’s 200th anniversary, students investigated how one of the world’s oldest zoological institutions has evolved into a centre for conservation, research and education.

Working in small groups, students gathered evidence, carried out research and interviews, and created documentary-style videos exploring conservation initiatives, breeding programmes and public education, while considering the ethical and environmental challenges facing modern zoos.

An inspiring opportunity for students to apply their scientific knowledge in an authentic setting while developing their research, communication, collaboration and critical-thinking skills. 🎥🔬🌍

Our Grade 11 Visual Arts students finished the year with their mini exhibition, An Event as a Starting Point, showcasing a diverse collection of thought-provoking work.

Responding to a specific event, each student created artworks exploring themes ranging from global politics and current affairs to deeply personal experiences. Through their choice of materials, processes, and presentation, they demonstrated how artistic decisions can strengthen and communicate powerful ideas.

Alongside the exhibition, students shared curatorial statements explaining their concepts, while CAS students produced behind-the-scenes videos documenting their creative process.

The exhibition marked an important milestone as our Grade 11 artists prepared for their full Grade 12 exhibition next year. We can’t wait to see how their ideas continue to develop🎨

Our Primary students at Southbank Hampstead enjoyed an action-packed Sports Day filled with teamwork, determination and plenty of smiles. From exciting races to cheering on their classmates, every child gave it their all and showed incredible sportsmanship.

Well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to our staff and families for making it such a memorable day. Wishing all of our Southbank community a wonderful summer break!

Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Adventures 🥾

Our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students took on their expedition challenge with determination, teamwork and plenty of resilience!

From navigating new routes and putting their map-reading skills to the test, to camping together and supporting one another along the way, the students embraced every challenge that came their way🌿⛺

It was fantastic to see them step outside their comfort zones, build confidence and create memories that will last long beyond the expedition.

A huge well done to everyone involved; we are incredibly proud of your effort, teamwork and adventurous spirit! 👏

Grade 4 Residential Adventure 🌲

What an incredible time our Grade 4 students had on their residential trip! From taking on the challenge of the trapeze and soaring through the trees on the zip line, to working together on team-building activities, every moment was filled with excitement, laughter and adventure.

The students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test as they designed and built their own wheeled creations before racing them against each other, and they showed fantastic teamwork while navigating the woodland rope trail blindfolded.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, support one another and create memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, we are so proud of the courage, resilience and teamwork shown throughout the trip! 💚

🎓 A Historic Milestone for the Class of 2026! 🎓
We are incredibly thrilled to celebrate our students on this IB Results Day! This year marks a monumental achievement as we celebrate the largest cohort ever at our Westminster Campus: all 95 students! 🌟

Today marks the culmination of immense dedication for our biggest graduating class yet, and the start of exciting new journeys worldwide. Our May 2026 cohort has truly embodied the spirit of inquiry and academic excellence that defines Southbank. 🌍

We are thrilled that two students have the required grades to accept offers to read medicine and many other students have been accepted onto courses that include engineering, neuroscience, biotechnology, politics, architecture, business, and arts in the UK and globally.

A massive congratulations to all 95 of our graduates, and a heartfelt thank you to the amazing faculty and families who supported them every step of the way! 💙

We are thrilled to announce that Southbank has been officially accredited by the IB as an IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) School! 

This is a huge milestone for our community, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our very first IBCP cohort this September.
Delivered in partnership with SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), our IBCP will give students a unique opportunity to combine academic rigour with career-related learning, opening doors to liberal arts and creative, design-led pathways alongside the strengths of the IB framework.

This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to offering students more ways to discover their passions, build real-world skills, and chart their own path to future success.

To our future IBCP students: welcome to an exciting new chapter; we can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve!
