Congratulations to Laura, one of our adult students, on her results at the Bromley Festival of Music and Drama - 2nd in the Operatic class and 1st in the German Lieder class!
Laura studies singing with Sophie and has performed at many of our student concerts over the past few years. Well done!

The community of music-making in Greenwich continues to grow, as we partner with three more wonderful primary schools this month!
It's been a delight to meet dozens of pupils at Cherry Orchard, Horn Park and Wingfield primaries, as they begin learning piano or guitar with us.
We've already starting making music together - while also finding out what music they enjoy, what ambitions they have, and what playing experience they bring.

A joy as ever to hear what students have been working on this term!
We listened to Bach, Sarah Watts, Keane, folk music from Scotland and from Russia, music from the musical Oliver! and a Christmas chart medley.

CHIME took to the stage earlier in November and made a brilliant impression - performing alongside much older acts and delivering a confident, well-prepared set that really connected with the audience.
The band first came together through the bands programme at Greenwich Music School, and they’ve continued to build their sound with support from GMS mentors in our sessions on Saturdays at Thomas Tallis School. It’s been exciting to see how they’ve grown as a group and how much they’ve achieved already!
A huge well done to the whole band - a fantastic milestone on their musical journey.

How does musical potential reveal itself before formal training begins?
From curiosity to confident pitch-matching, focus to imagination - small clues can tell us a lot, and they might not be what we expect.
Thank you to Young Sounds UK and Hugh Nankivell for leading us through an exploration of these ideas, in an inspiring training session for teachers across Greenwich and South East London.
We’re planning our next set of concerts!
Each term, we run five different performance opportunities – from our Launchpad workshop for younger musicians, to Open Mic for adults.
Whether they learn with us in primary or secondary school, or out of school in our venues, every student has the chance to perform in a setting that’s right for them – we don't charge students to take part.
