The waves are big. The world is wide. And le petit crabe is very, very small. πŸ¦€ Today for story time, we're reading Le Petit Crabe (The Little Crab), a charming book about a tiny creature learning to navigate the vast ocean and sandy shore.

In this gentle, beautifully illustrated story, we follow un petit crabe as he takes his first brave steps into the big world. He encounters waves that seem enormous, creatures he's never seen before, and adventures that test his courage. But along the way, he discovers that even the smallest crab can be brave.

The waves are calling, the sun is shining, and we're ready to dive into a brand new theme! 🌊 This term, we're exploring LA MER – the sea!

From sandy beaches to ocean depths, from tiny crabs to giant ships, our classes will be filled with the magic of the sea. It's the perfect summer theme – full of sunshine, discovery, and beaucoup of French vocabulary.

What we'll discover this term:

πŸ¦€ Les animaux de la mer (sea animals) – crabs, fish, starfish, and more

🐚 La plage (the beach) – sand, shells, waves, and sunshine

β›΅ Les bateaux (boats) – sailing, cruising, and exploring the water

πŸ’™ La beautΓ© de l'ocΓ©an (the beauty of the ocean) – colors, sounds, and feelings

Crash, roll, whoosh, repeat. 🌊 Today's Word of the Day captures the endless, rhythmic movement of the sea: les vagues (the waves).

Les vagues (pronounced lay vahg) are one of the most mesmerizing parts of any beach trip. They roll in from far across the ocean, gather energy, and finally break on the shore – only to retreat and do it all over again. It's a dance that never stops!

It's in our glasses, our bathtubs, our pools, our oceans, and our rainclouds. It's l'eau – water! πŸ’§ Today's Word of the Day is one of the most important words you'll ever learn.

L'eau (pronounced lo) is a small, simple word in French – just three letters and one syllable. But it represents something absolutely essential to life on Earth. Without l'eau, there would be no plants, no animals, no people, no beaches, no swimming, no nothing!

Different kinds of l'eau:

🌊 L'eau de mer – seawater (salty!)

🚰 L'eau du robinet – tap water (fresh and drinkable)

β˜” L'eau de pluie – rainwater (great for plants!)

πŸ’§ L'eau minΓ©rale – mineral water (bubbly or still)

πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ L'eau de piscine – pool water (chlorinated for swimming!)

He walks sideways, has two big pincers, and loves to hide under rocks. Meet le crabe (the crab) – one of the most fascinating creatures of the seashore! πŸ¦€

Le crabe (pronounced luh krab) is a crustacean with a hard shell, ten legs, and a sideways walk that always makes children giggle. Whether you find one scuttling across the sand or hiding in a tide pool, spotting un crabe is always a beach day highlight.

Can you feel it? Spring is on its way – and it's running! 🌷 Today's singalong captures that energetic, exciting feeling of the season's arrival: Il court, il court, le printemps (He runs, he runs, spring).

This classic French song is a celebration of spring's quick, joyful entrance. After the slow, quiet days of winter, spring comes running – bringing flowers, sunshine, and new life. The repetitive, bouncy melody makes it impossible not to move along!
