Ding, d**g! Ring, ring! Can you hear it? That's la cloche – the bell! 🔔 Today's Word of the Day is all about the wonderful sounds that get our attention.

La cloche (pronounced lah klosh) is a bell – a simple instrument that makes a clear, bright sound. Bells come in all shapes and sizes, and they serve many purposes, from warning us to celebrating with us.

Where you might find une cloche:

🚲 Sur un vélo – on a bike (to let people know you're coming!)

🚪 À une porte – on a door (a doorbell to announce visitors)

⛪ Dans une église – in a church (calling people to prayer)

🏫 À l'école – at school (for the start and end of lessons)

🎄 Pour les fêtes – at Christmas (jingle bells!)

Where would we be without it? Round, simple, and absolutely brilliant – that's la roue – the wheel! 🔵 Today's Word of the Day celebrates one of the most important inventions in history.

La roue (pronounced lah roo) is a circular object that rotates on an axle, allowing vehicles to move. It's the foundation of almost every form of transport – from bikes to buses, cars to carts. Without la roue, we'd still be walking everywhere!
