Year 1 Sikh Studies returns in February for the second half of our course, back in to our four sittings! In this first class of our second term, week 8, we learn how the demise of the Khalsa Kingdom took hold rapidly, replaced by the rule of the British Empire - but not without opposition. Classes start week commencing 2 February 2026.
Classes at UCL on Tuesday, in Hitchin on Wednesday, and at Royal Holloway and in Southampton on Thursday. Registration has now closed, however you can attend classes - please make yourself known to the tutor at the end of the class.

We thank the Sangat in Southampton for joining us this evening at Gurdwara Khalsa Darbar to commemorate Mela Maghi, marking the barsi of Mata Bhag Kaur and the Chali Mukte.
The evening began with Rehras Sahib and kirtan, followed by a group-based discourse led by our Director, Harwinder Singh, and Southampton-based tutor, Ranjeet Singh Shahi.
For those seeking further opportunities to reflect on Sikh history and its contemporary applications, you may be interested in our Sikh Studies course, which resumes in early February. Classes take place in Southampton, central London, Egham, and Hitchin.
Further details will be shared in due course via our social media channels and our VLE.

SEC members had a blast this morning, facing off against each other in our annual gaming competition at our Hitchin Research Centre. We did warn everyone that our volunteers have been training for years, but our members certainly gave them a run for their money today! Congrats to our winner Jair Singh Parmar and runner up Juvraj Singh 🎉
We hope to build on the connections made today and stay in touch. If you’re interested in learning about future events at our Hitchin Research Centre and across other locations, please visit our website: thesikhway.com
