Today at JFS, students took part in our Mock Election, with all five major parties represented in a hard-fought campaign.
A huge well done to all students involved, who put themselves forward and worked incredibly hard to ensure full representation across the school community.
Thank you as well to everyone behind the scenes who helped make the event possible, from campaign videos to the voting and counting process.
With the real elections taking place this week, it was fantastic to see so many students engaging with politics, debate and democracy at JFS.

Today, as part of celebrations for Lag Ba’Omer, JFS students learned about Rabbi Akiva and his resilience. During lunch, we invited students to write meaningful messages for our Wall of Resilience.
During Lesson 5, the Beit Midrash class was fortunate to experience the first ever JFS “bonfire” outside where we toasted s’mores, enjoyed slush and joined together in songs

Students of the Bet Midrash were privileged to hear from Rabbi Jesse Horn on Friday. Rav Horn is an expert Tanach educator, author of a number of engaging English language books about Tanach personalities and Rabbinic Methodology, and is a teacher at Yeshivat HaKotel in Jerusalem.
Rav Horn has visited JFS a number of times over the years and students have always enjoyed learning Torah from him. In turn Rav Horn has always been impressed with the calibre of the Bet Midrash.
The Bet Midrash engaged with his analysis of the Noach story, reflecting on the character’s attempts to rebuild the world after the flood, the strange but deliberate echoes of the story of Adam, and fascinating embellishments of the sages in the Midrash building on subtle hints in the text itself.
We are delighted to be able to continue providing access to incredible Torah educators here at JFS, and a big thank you to Mizrachi UK for bringing over Rav Horn!
