There is an exhibition of students work this year at Alexandra Nurseries, location 16 on The Artists Trail map. This is being held over 8/9th July and 15/16th July. The full timetable for the event is on here.
Sydenham Arts Artists Trail – all are welcome for art and a jazz band, plus a glass or two of refreshment on a summer evening – what more can you want. Well if you do want more there’s the

Glasswork - open studio - beginners/improvers (DMF028SGR)
This course is specifically designed for all levels of experience. Beginners will be able to learn some basic fusing skills producing a series of creative samples and depending on your progress will complete an A5 fused panel or bowl. Returning learners should bring along their current project to work on.

What prior knowledge, experience and qualifications will I need?
This is a workshop style class designed for all levels of experience.
Learning Goals:
To build and develop your skills. To complete an independent project. To experiment and expand your portfolio of work. To identify and achieve a personal goal, as discussed with your tutor.
What teaching methods will the tutor use?
The tutor will use a range of teaching methods during the course which will include the following: Demonstration - both group and individual, one to one tuition, group work, assessment of progress, observation, discussion / question and answer sessions.
What assessment methods will the tutor use?
The course tutor will use a range of methods to assess progress on the course. These may include: observation, completion of Individual Learning Plan which will be updated regularly, evaluation of work samples, question and answer sessions, photographs of projects to record achievement presented on iCEL.
Will extra work be required outside the class times?
Individuals may wish to work on projects outside the classroom in order to progress. Homework exercises are set to enhance and develop techniques learnt during the session. You will be expected to access our virtual learning site, take part in course forums and various online activities provided by the tutor. What materials will I need for the course and how much will they cost?
A small charge is included in the fee for basic materials and where appropriate a charge has been included for use of specialist equipment. Learners will be expected to purchase drawing equipment, all glass, lead, base boards and tracing paper. This will be discussed with the course tutor and will not be covered in the course materials fee. Please do not purchase anything before your first lesson unless requested to do so. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a course cancelled/altered at short notice.
What do I need to bring to the first class?
Working sketch book, drawing and writing equipment, notebook, images for inspiration and an apron
