As I am off to see the tower with my son in a couple of weeks I am excited to see this old picture from National Geographic's archives!

Beautiful pictures by Bernado Cesare - polarised light photomicrography - He says "My main subjects are small pieces of stones, even the most ordinary, that are sliced down to a 0.03-mm thickness and looked through with polarized light."

Wandering River Photography and Videography is often in my neck of the woods and captures some of the beauty I see every day.
After a second visit to Bawdsey, I feel compelled to calibrate the spot as 'spiffing'... The sky is enormous, the sound of the sea so invigorating and the old groynes, even in their broken-down state look like sentinels..
