WORKPLACE BURNOUT 🙇🏽♀️
In light of the recent World Health Organisation announcement that ‘burnout’ is now a medically diagnosed condition and epidemic, it’s clearly something we need to take seriously and learn more about as a form of *prevention* rather than cure.
I’m joining mental health technology company , for their monthly round table discussion where I will be facilitating this month’s conversation on burnout - how to spot it and prevent it.
Are you interested in learning how to spot burnout, or hearing what others are doing to prevent it? Want to meet and network with others within your field?
If you’re an HRM or part of your company’s wellbeing committee, DM or email me using the 'contact us' button above for more details. Please also forward this info on to people within your firm who this would be suitable for.
This event is happening on Tuesday, 25th June, 8.30-10.30 in central London.
Self care is the new healthcare 🙋🏽♀️

One of the perks of working out of a cafe on a regular basis, (although not just any cafe I might add! 🍐) ... you get to trial their latest baking experiments straight from the over 🙌🏻
Avocado, pistachio and lime bread/cake ... I’m giving it 10/10! 🤩

Just found this image whilst cleaning up my desktop, and it’s something I meant to post ages ago!
I wrote a blog on the big ‘why’... If you’re into self-improvement or business you’ll probably have seen, read or heard of best selling author ‘s famous TED talk that went viral, entitled ‘Start With Why’ ... where he sets out to discover why companies like Apple have been able to achieve such extraordinary success while other, with the same resources, have failed. (Go watch it if you haven’t yet!)
So I decided to write about ‘why’ we want to be fit and healthy and look after our wellbeing in one of my blogs, taking the concept and focussing on wellbeing.
I shared my ‘why’ in the article, which is what you’re seeing in this photo, but this was actually sent to me by a long-standing reader of my blog who decided to print it out and frame on her wall!! 💖
Empowering positive ‘whys’ over restrictive, negative, shaming ones are so important in improving any area of your wellbeing. Check in with yourself and look at what you’re underlying why is 🤔

Repetition breeds integration and internalisation 🧠
If you read material and think in the right way over and over again things embed in your subconscious. They cross over and become you ✨
.. So it’s critically important that you check in with yourself and make sure that the things that you watch, consume, read, listen to (including people) and most importantly think to yourself, are supportive, optimistic, based on possibilities and loving rather than the opposite!

THRIVE BASICS
If you want house plants to thrive, what do you have to do?
1. Most important, care for them! My plants tend to do really well because I actually care whether or not they’re happy! Personally I 💯 believe that plants respond to good vibes.
2. Pay attention - are you tuned into what’s going on ... does something look off?? Is the soil dry or too wet, are they wilting, are the leaves dying, are they looking ill ...
3. Make sure they they get enough light, water, fresh air and food. The basics.
4. Does their environment suit them - too dark, too light, too cold, too hot? Do they need repotting, i.e have they outgrown their current circumstances... Is the soil old... Are they surrounded by the wrong plants - sometimes they can catch diseases or bugs from other unhealthy plants.
5. Is the environment as close to their natural environment as possible - as you can see in the pic I spray my plants a couple of times a month because they would be getting rain or moisture on their leaves in their natural environment right...
Now look at these principles and apply them to your own health, it’s exactly the same! Love yourself, look after yourself. Get adequate hydration, light, good nutrition, movement and sleep. Pay attention to your feelings and symptoms and sort them out if need be. Is your environment conducive for your health and wellbeing - who are you surrounding yourself with, do you feel safe and calm, can you get enough rest, is the environment or company you keep in anyway toxic. Is your lifestyle too hectic and imbalanced..... Get these things right and you’ll thrive too 😉💚

INVESTING IN YOU...
The majority of people I speak to on a weekly basis, (whether it be people enquiring to work with me or random people sharing their wellbeing struggles), are so resistant to prioritise spending money on themselves!
Yet if you dig a little deeper, they’re quite open to dropping sizeable amounts of money on designer handbags, jewellery, clothes, shoes, home and kitchen accessories, holidays, cosmetic procedures, home improvements, fancy meals, concert tickets ... you name it. But they clam up at the idea of spending a similar amount on their mental, physical and/or emotional health.
Despite the fact they may be suffering with their weight, health, skin, digestion, stress, anxiety in ways that literally affect every aspect of their life!
In truth this isn’t even about ‘spending’ its an investment. Your return is not only priceless but potentially life-changing and on so many levels.
You don’t just resolve the issue(s), you learn so much about yourself in the process you quite literally ‘up-level’ ... You learn how to get out of your own way, to be a better person, to feel better, to perform better in your chosen field and to live your best life.
And these things can never be taken away ... you can’t unlearn self-awareness.
So my motive in sharing this is to hopefully open your mind around investing in yourself. If you want to do better, be better, have better in any way, I highly recommend that you invest in someone or something that can help you get there. Could be anything from podcasts or books on the topic to courses or coaching, but make your own personal growth one of your top priorities, because you can’t get a better return than yourself, your quality of life and your potential!🙌🏻
