Membership of the society is drawn from a wide range of disciplines including medical and paramedical professions, physicists, engineers, nurses, midwives, technicians, general practitioners, vets and others with an interest in medical ultrasound both in the United Kingdom and overseas. The success of the Society stems to a great extent from its multi-disciplinary nature, its regular special topic meetings, its Annual Scientific meeting and its quarterly 'Journal'.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Qiang Lu, Professor and Vice Director of the Department of Ultrasound at West China Hospital, Sichuan University, will be speaking at our Ultrasound 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting!

🎤Professor Lu will be delivering the keynote lecture on Day 2 of the meeting. His talk is entitled; "From Volume to Value: The West China Ultrasound Model— Workflow innovation & Quality Management."

📜Professor Lu has over 24 years of clinical experience across abdominal, vascular and interventional ultrasound. He has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications with a research focus on contrast-enhanced ultrasound and interventional therapies. He is a passionate advocate for ultrasound education, believing it to be the most sustainable pathway to delivering high-quality care to more patients.

We are incredibly grateful to have him join us at Ultrasound 2026!

Our delegates have had the opportunity to hear from our expert panel of speakers including:

Hospital who dialled in to break down doppler use to predict preeclampsia

📌 Dr Trisha Vigneswaran from Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Guys & St Thomas’ NHS Trust and NCARDRS, NHS England. Dr Vigneswaran guided delegates
