Breaking Barriers: A transformative evening on social mobility and inclusion 🌟

The School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London proudly hosted its second Employer’s Address—an inspiring evening dedicated to celebrating diversity, equity, and the power of inclusion in the workforce.

We were delighted to welcome Sandra Kerr CBE, Race Equality Director at Business in the Community, and Julie Linn Teigland, EY EMEIA Area Managing Partner, as our keynote speakers. Their insightful talks on social equity, innovation, and leadership empowered attendees to envision and contribute to a more equitable future.

The evening featured a thought-provoking Q&A session and a lively networking reception, bringing together students, industry leaders, and academics to forge meaningful connections and explore opportunities.

💼 21% of working-age adults in the UK have disabilities.

🌱 83% of disabilities are acquired during one’s life.
🤲 Many disabled people are also caregivers, with 27% of carers surveyed by Carers UK in 2022 reporting a disability.

We’re proud to announce that leading experts from Queen Mary’s School of Business and Management are attending COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, to champion the fight for a sustainable future!

Dr. Fernando Barrio will lead an event with partners from India and Nigeria titled “Socio-economic, Environmental, and Technological Aspects of Climate Change-Fueled Land Conflicts”, exploring the need for equitable and inclusive climate policies.

Dr. Benjamin Neimark will speak at the event “Measuring Climate Impacts Across the Cycle of Armed Conflicts”, where he will be joined by speakers including Deputy Minister Viktoriia Kyreieva from the Ukraine’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
