IT’S LIVE NOW! 🐻🎻🎤

A little look through our latest episode with me! I’ve been watching it back and picking out some of my favourite moments to share because we’re really proud of this one.

Our brand new original song “Beatboxing Bear” is seriously catchy and got the children up and moving! 🎶🐻

Then the amazing professional musician Gary Washington plays the cello AND beatboxes at the same time, before introducing the children to the cello through a brilliant interactive version of The Tortoise and the Hare. They absolutely loved it!

Happy Friday from day 3 of filming! 🎬🦘🎶

I’m loving how much more we’re letting the creative process flow this time, rather than feeling we have to rigidly stick to a script. Some of our favourite moments are happening because we’re giving ourselves room to play and see where the ideas take us.

Nige, Mr Roo, a professional bassist, has been laying down basslines for our original KangaRooKids songs, some written almost 12 years ago, alongside the brand new music Callum and I are creating together. Callum is producing the music as well as editing the programme, so everything is starting to develop its own sound and feel.

We want the music to be genuinely great to listen to for little ones AND their grown ups. Music you might actually find yourself enjoying in the background… or dancing to with them! 🎶

Meanwhile, my flat is still very much a filming studio 😂

Meet Mr. Snappy! 🐊🪥🎶

A new character is coming to Ms Roo & The Kanga Crew… Mr. Snappy the Crocodile, who LOVES cleaning his teeth!

Today we filmed Mr. Snappy with Roothie, our older kangaroo who, it turns out, is from up north 😂 She’s brought him his very own crocodile toothbrush and he couldn’t be happier!

The episode features one of our original songs that I’ve been using with children for nearly 12 years, now completely revamped with a really funky new sound. A fun message about brushing your teeth, with music we hope the grown ups will enjoy listening and dancing to as much as the kids!

We can’t wait for you to meet Mr. Snappy on the show 🐊🎶

When the creative energy just flows… 🎶✨

We definitely weren’t planning to write a song for Beatboxing Bear today, but somehow this happened! 🐻🎤

A little behind the scenes moment of me and Callum creating together, throwing ideas around, trying melodies and following wherever the music took us. You can hear how excited we were when it started coming together!

I absolutely love this part of the process. The creative collaboration behind Ms Roo & The Kanga Crew is so much fun, and sometimes the best ideas are the ones you didn’t plan at all.
