This week’s theme is “Rhymes”.

Nursery rhymes are important for language acquisition and help with speech development. They help children develop auditory skills such as discriminating between sounds and developing the ear for the music of words. ... The mouth and tongue muscles are developed as children say these rhymes. Rhymes are also super fun for parents, head to our website to play and learn along with your kid(s)!

Construction play is exactly as the name states. Your child will construct or build something new using toy elements or real-life materials. It is very important in your child's early development stages. ... By using open-ended materials it allows children to reflect on the materials used.

Paleontology is a great opportunity to teach kids about biology, evolution, and scientific thinking. Most young children are fascinated by dinosaurs, and studies suggest that curiosity boosts learning. When kids are intrigued - when they have questions - their brains are especially primed to learn the answers.

What are day and night?

Daytime is the time of day when the sun is visible in the sky, providing light and heat. Nighttime is when the sun has done down, the sky becomes dark and the moon is visible.
We get day and night because the Earth rotates on an imaginary line called an axis. During daytime, your part of the Earth is facing the sun. As the Earth rotates you move away from the sun until eventually, the sun is no longer visible. For you, this is now nighttime, but for other side of the planet, day has just begun.

This week we’re learning together about our senses!

With sensory play, there’s always much more going on than meets the eye.
Sensory activities, in addition to being fun and interesting for babies and young children, encourage children to explore and investigate. Furthermore, these activities support children to use the ‘scientific method’ of observing, forming a hypothesis, experimenting and making conclusions.
Sensory activities also allow children to refine their thresholds for different sensory information, helping their brain to create stronger connections to sensory information and learn which are useful and which can be filtered out.
Have fun!

Sensorial Play!

Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain's pathways, which lead to the child's ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.

With so many food choices available today, it is important for parents to instill good eating habits at a young age. Learning the right foods to eat while younger can promote a lifetime of healthy living choices. The good news is that there are many fun ways to teach your kids about the importance of fruits, vegetables and healthy eating.

Making observations about the weather and discussing climate are great ways to teach children about science, especially since weather is something children can easily relate to and understand. Whether it's clear and sunny or rainy and windy outside, weather and climate affect children's lives every day.

Macaron: Toilet training
Teaching and practicing baby sign language also can be fun and give you and your child an opportunity to bond. Limited research suggests that baby sign language might give a typically developing child a way to communicate several months earlier than those who only use vocal communication.

Learning shapes not only helps children identify and organise visual information, it helps them learn skills in other curriculum areas including reading, math, and science. ... Learning shapes also helps children understand other signs and symbols. A fun way to help your child learn shapes is to make a shape hunt game.
